Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Berger.
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Germany! Since the late 80’s, I have been working in the Music Industry on a global level, providing A-List service for top of the line Artist such as Kiss, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, Sheryl Crow, Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart and many more. Touring the world many times over helped me to understand what is needed to deliver a concierge service to my clients that deserve only the best. It was my love of working with artists in Los Angeles, spending time in their Estates and home studios that led me into the world of real estate.
I am still working for the Rock Band Kiss looking after Gene Simmons on and off stage. At the same time, I am focusing on serving clients in the Luxury Real Estate world. My Team is the Rubel Ashman Group with Avenue 8 in Beverly Hills. I am married with two Children.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely touring and being away from the family. Starting a new career and transitioning into Real Estate Full time is still challenging for me at times since I am still finishing the End of the Road tour with Kiss after the pandemic put the Music industry to a full stop! Coming to a new country back in 2004 and starting a new life and family in the United States.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been working in the Touring (Music) Industry as a Guitar Technician, Stagemanager, Tourmanger and Crew Chief for over 30 years on a Global Level with bands like Kiss, Judas Priest, Mick Jagger, Cheryl Crow and many more. I deliver a concierge-style service to all of my clients and A-List Artists I represent. In Real Estate, I believe the same formula can be applied to my clients that I guide through the sale of their home or home buying process. I am proud of my journey in the Music Industry as my dreams came through by working with my childhood favorite Bands such as Kiss, Iron Maiden or Ronnie James Dio and Mick Jagger and getting to know them on a personal level. Coming to Los Angeles and starting a new life and leaving my home country Germany was a big highlight and of course, creating my wonderful family.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Many of the old bands and artists I grew up with will be gone in 5-10 years and new talent will pop up on the horizon. But nobody knows if there ever will be Real Rock Stars as we knew them from the 70s and 80s! As far as the Real Estate Market goes. There is always opportunities. People will sell and buy real estate and also invest in Real Estate. You have to live somewhere. History shows that Real Estate is a good long-term investment. We will see AI (Artificial intelligence) taking over many aspects of the business such as automation and outreach to clients in Lead Generation. I believe the human touch will not be replaced just yet but who knows where technology will take us in 5-10 years. It is a fast pacing environment.
