Rising Stars: Meet Maxwell Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maxwell Campbell.

Maxwell, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, currently, I have just become certified as a life coach, which I didn’t really expect. However, through my journey of being a Self Published Author and a self-taught photographer shooting all these popular people and events, I started to feel less creative and unseen which is not uncommon to feel frustrated when going through tough times, especially when you’re trying to achieve your goals and feel like you’re not being seen. I kind of got lost behind the photos I had taken. For me, at least, that’s what my experience with photography started to become. I always felt like there was something else I had to offer to the world and people around me, not just photography. I always knew my value was worth more than what was being reflected back to me. Don’t get me wrong, I am very appreciative of the experiences and people the camera has brought me to.

But I have not been shooting professionally for almost three years now. I wrote 2 books “Trust the Struggle and “Emotional Soul” During this time, I have had the opportunity to reflect on myself and start a journey of self-love. The more I learn about myself, the more I understand my own value and what I have to offer other people. It made me really understand the tough love I’ve received from my past football and basketball coaches. The more I learned and understood self-love, the more powerful it became for me. I felt like I wanted to show my value more in helping people find themselves in whatever creative outlet they have. Photography was mine. So now we are hearing a dope Life coach, haha.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Man, it’s been like anything else, with ups and downs. A lot of self-doubts is created when you stop doing what most people know you for and try to rebrand yourself into something new. It’s always going to be tough, but my mind won’t let me give up. My main struggle was the way I treated myself. That was my first task: breaking myself down and building myself back up. I can honestly admit I was a people pleaser. I would do way more for others to feel seen than I would do for myself, which is not all bad, but doing it all the time is kinda crazy lol. But I knew getting to the root, which is the Self, wouldn’t be easy. Years of habits had to be corrected.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Now I’m putting most of my time into life coaching while also dabbling in my other creative outlets such as photography, music, film, and of course writing. I’m mostly known for photography. It’s not a day that goes by where I don’t get asked, “When are we shooting?” lol. I’m not mad at it; I still love it, honestly. But now, moving with more intention, I’m figuring out how to blend all the components I have together because I also realized that even the best creatives still deal with everyday emotions and life, and I can definitely relate to that. So if I can be creative and help someone find themselves, so they can be the best version of themself that’s what I’ll be most proud of and would set me apart from most creatives and I say creatives cause everyone is creative in their own right.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Just tap in, man. Lol, I’m open. Obviously, I’ll have to have a genuine interest, but I’m not shy to any perspective I feel is dope and creates momentum for the better. I think it’s important to have an open mind and consider all perspectives, even those that might seem unconventional at first. We can create a more dynamic and inclusive environment that encourages growth and progress. Tapping into our genuine interests and passions, we can find the motivation and drive to pursue our goals and make meaningful contributions to society. So, while it’s great to be open and receptive to new ideas, it’s also important to stay true to ourselves and pursue the things that truly inspire us.
