Today we’d like to introduce you to Massio.
Hi Massio, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Since a very young age, I was very interested in music in general, I was really intrigued in how the music production process was and how they came with those sounds. Hip Hop was my music of choice and I became very obsessed with sharp melodies and heavy thick bass right away. But after a while that sound started to get really saturated and thats when I discovered electronic dance music. It became my escape from the mainstream sound and I understood that this was a whole new concept that I wanted to be involved, thats when I bought my first cd mixer in October 2006. Fast forward to 2021, with a lot of patience, hard work and consistency I have been able to play around the world in countries like China, Peru, Canada EU, Mexico USA and released music in legendary record labels like Perfecto Records, Hoomidaas, Mirrors, and play in major events as Coachella, Burning Man and the Latin Grammys.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all but I have been enjoying every single step of it. Since the beginning, I knew it was not going to be an easy task, the market is very saturated with lots of very talented producers, so I’ve been taking the time to develop the formula that has made me come with my unique sound and style. The biggest struggle has been music production, but lately I’ve been accepting the process and understand that amazing tracks are not perfect. You need to look at yourself as a tool of expression and letting it flow, whatever it is, you need to let it out and be careful in your personal judgment.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in deep house music and Dj, people enjoy coming to my shows to get away from their routine to hear underground thick baselines with dreamy melodies. People in the scene are always looking to hear the hottest beats and unreleased stuff, and they know I will provide that in every show. I’m so grateful to have signed in Paul Oakenfold’s legendary label Perfecto Records the track “Legacy” and in Armen Miran’s imprint Hoomiddas the track “Amor Dorado”.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
As a Dj, the ultimate goal is to travel the world and play all the festivals and in the hottest venues around, that is how I measure success in this carrier because all your hard work will be reflected in your tour schedule. Once you release in the hottest record labels and producers know your name, you will be touring 12 out of 12 months. Once you achieve that, I’ll consider that as a successful career.
