Rising Stars: Meet Mariah Woods

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Mariah Woods again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Mariah , thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Mariah Woods, I’m an Actor, Content Creator, and Podcaster based in LA but originally from Chicago! I have a love of fashion, beauty, pop culture, film, television, and music, and none more than Hip-Hop. My love of Hip-Hop and my love of Black women has been the driving force in creating my podcast, Where My Girls At? which is a podcast about Black women in Hip-Hop. My Co-Host, Brianna, and I discuss everything surrounding Black women in the rap industry in order to create a space that is solely dedicated to their excellence and achievements.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
I’ve written a book of nonfiction short stories about my childhood called “How Did I End Up Here? How Do I Always End Up Here? A Black Girls Guide to Coming of Age?” available on Amazon in physical and e-book format. I’ve stared a Youtube Channel, sharing my opinions on everything from pop culture, to fashion, to music, and more. I’ve started performing standup comedy around LA, as well as continuing to pursue my acting career.
