Hi Maeve, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Maeve Mancini, the face & founder of Spray n’ Slay. I’ve always loved a bronzed glow but hated the sun’s harsh rays and the consequences they bring. When I discovered spray tanning, my life changed. I became a certified spray tan artist by T.A.N. Montreal and turned that enthusiasm into a business in 2017. Today, I am one of the leading mobile spray tan services in the greater Montreal area and am extremely passionate about finding the perfect, sunless shade for every skin type, body & personality – simply putting a glow in your step.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had many challenges at the beginning, but I networked, researched every tan product in the industry, spoke to beauty business owners, became part of spray tan beauty support groups, and more! I’m still building my business so I’m sure I will have more obstacles to overcome, but it’s all worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in beauty and making people feel AMAZING inside and out. I offer mobile tanning services which set me apart from the other spray tan salons in Montreal. I am a great people person, very social and personable. I make people (who are meeting me for the first time) comfortable enough to let me in their home, strip down naked and trust me enough to make them feel beautiful, confident and ready to slay the day!! I am so proud that I am a one women show who’s managed to make a name for herself in the industry, and it’s only going to get bigger and better!
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
When I first started in this industry, I went to a lot of beauty events and pop-ups at salons to network and talk to people in the industry. I picked the brains of some OG beauty people who really gave me great advice and they are now supporting my business and love getting weekly spray tans with me!
