Today we’d like to introduce you toLOCS.
LOCS, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born and raised in Ohio. I started making music in college in 2017. I learned to record, mix/master and produce my own music over the years. It all started as a hobby and developed into a passion. Since then, I’ve been synced with the NFL, HBO, Paramount, and Bally Sports.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s had its ups and downs for sure! The first thing I had to figure out was my sound and what I wanted my brand to be. Till this day, I’m still working through that stage in smaller ways. Since I’ve been my own engineer, learning how to develop a “radio ready” sound or track was tough. I can say now I’m more than comfortable with my music being able to stand next to great music out in the world today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hip-hop/rap artist. I record, produce, mix and master my own music. I’m very versatile when it comes to my flow and context within my songs. My sound scales across multiple genres.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think risk-taking is likely when you are seeking heights beyond those you’ve reached or can imagine. I quit my career that I went to college for to free up time in music and allow me to be happy. In return, it’s brought on much success and can’t be happier with the decision.
