Rising Stars: Meet LIZZART of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to LIZZART.

Hi LIZZART, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up in Pennsylvania, there wasn’t a huge music industry to tap into, but I always found ways to immerse myself in it—whether it was voice competitions in the Pocono Mountains, constantly humming and writing songs while running around in nature, painting, dancing, or exploring literally every genre. Looking back, I really admire the slow, organic way I got to experience music—it felt pure, like an extension of who I was.
After graduating from my tiny little town, I moved to Philadelphia, where both of my parents and all of my extended family are from. I attended what was then the University of the Arts, and my whole world opened up. The talent in that city whipped me into shape, and the people I met during that time truly changed my life. I will forever consider it my home.
Then the pandemic hit, and an opportunity came up for me to do The Voice in LA. During that time, my then-partner and I decided to sell everything, drive across the country in my little Fiat, document the journey, and make LA our new home. I never thought I’d end up here—my vision was always London, New York, or Berlin. But I let life do its thing, listened, and adapted.
When I moved to LA, that slow, organic process of making music I was so used to, was no longer. Luckily, I found comfort in joining an incredible funk band. Being part of that band helped me grow so much as an artist and gave me a space to experiment, perform, and collaborate. But when I was no longer in that band, lost my job, and went through a heavy breakup, I had to take a hard look at myself and my artistry. Everything I had built my identity around was shifting, and I had to figure out who I was outside of those attachments.
That period of uncertainty pushed me to dig deeper into LIZZART, a project rooted in resilience, transformation, and authenticity. Now, I’m making music that reflects those experiences—the highs, the heartbreaks, the moments of self-reinvention. It hasn’t been easy, and man, am I terrible when it comes to change, but I’ve learned that growth comes from embracing the unknown. More than anything, I want my music to connect with people in a way that makes them feel seen, just like music has always done for me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When is it ever a smooth road??
I used to really struggle with that—feeling frustrated when things didn’t work out the way I thought they would. Over time, I’ve truly let go of control and learned to enjoy the journey so much more. My 20s were all about battling myself—dealing with expectations vs reality, constantly getting no’s, hitting the wrong notes, breakups, loss of income, the pressure of body image… it gets weird out here.
But wooo, the grit I have now? The texture in my voice, the depth in my artistry—I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer/songwriter and visual artist.
What sets me apart is my ability to create worlds, moods, and stories that people can step into and see themselves in.
I’m most proud of my work ethic, resilience, and my ability to remain feminine and soft in a world that often tries to harden you. I’m not afraid to be seen—to share all the messy emotions, from heartbreak to empowerment. My music isn’t just about me; it’s for anyone who’s ever had to start over, redefine themselves, or push through doubt.
That’s what LIZZART is about—reinvention, transformation, and making something beautiful out of every story.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being present, which feels more rare these days. Feeling aligned, a delicious meal, being in nature, spending the whole day at an art gallery, and surrounding myself with my incredible community.
