Rising Stars: Meet Lili Henry of San Francisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lili Henry.

Hi Lili, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Story
I grew up in the south of France, town called Biarritz, where my passion for fashion was influenced by my grandmother’s emphasis on quality and pieces well made.

Even though I loved fashion from a young age, it never crossed my mind that it could become a career. Where I grew up, it wasn’t exactly considered a path. So I studied law instead! But later on, I worked for someone who loved luxury fashion, and that experience completely changed everything for me. It opened my eyes to the idea that helping people dress well — and feel confident — could actually be a profession.

I decided to follow that spark and took image consulting classes through FIT. From there, I started building my business, one client at a time. It’s now been ten years, and I’m proud to have established myself in San Francisco, working with men and women from all walks of life — C- suite executives, tech entrepreneurs, new mothers — all of them looking to feel more like themselves in what they wear.

Today, my work has expanded to New York and beyond, but at the heart of it, my mission is still the same: helping my clients create wardrobes that feel effortless, intentional, and true to who they are.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not smooth — but absolutely worth it. When you start your own business, especially around 30 like I did, there’s a lot you have to figure out on your own. I didn’t go to business school, so the biggest challenge for me wasn’t styling itself — it was learning how to build a business from the ground up.

Being a personal stylist isn’t just about having a good eye for clothes. It’s about knowing how to reach people, how to run operations smoothly, how to manage finances, and how to create a real brand. I had to learn everything — from building my first website and designing my logo to figuring out marketing, social media, and where to actually find my clients.

It was a lot of trial and error, but every challenge helped me become not just a better stylist, but a stronger entrepreneur.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a personal stylist and image consultant, and my work is all about helping men and women feel confident and aligned with who they are through what they wear. I offer both in-person and virtual services, from color analysis and body type assessments to closet edits, personal shopping, and concierge style services.

What I’m most known for is helping my clients simplify the process of getting dressed by building a versatile wardrobe that makes them easily feel elevated and authentic to their personal style. My approach isn’t about chasing trends — it’s about understanding what makes you shine.

Over the years, I’ve developed my own method called the 3C Method: Clarify. Curate. Cultivate. It’s a step-by-step system that helps clients first gain clarity on their personal style, then curate a wardrobe that supports it, and finally cultivate a sense of confidence and ease with their image. Also showing how to go from just wearing clothes to create a well put together outfit with my 5 points rule ( 1 embellishment like for example a scarf is equal 1 point and you go up to 5!)

I think what sets me apart is that I don’t just focus on clothes — I focus on the person. Style isn’t about perfection; it’s about alignment. When your wardrobe reflects your personality, lifestyle, and goals, getting dressed becomes effortless. That’s the transformation I’m most proud of seeing in my clients — when they start to feel like the best version of themselves, every single day.

How do you define success?
For me, success is about freedom and alignment. It’s the freedom to design a life and business that truly reflect who you are, and the alignment between your values, your work, and your lifestyle.
