Today we’d like to introduce you to Lexi Faith
Hi Lexi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story started not unlike many other artists and creatives, and yet totally unlike any other person I have ever known.
I grew up in New York City, going to arts-based schools like LaGuardia High School (yes I was friends with the people you are thinking about), I was a visual artist and an actor, who loved singing, dancing, writing, and crafts, yet my naturally quiet nature led me to the visual arts, whereas performing arts helped me overcome my shyness that plagued most of my childhood.
My upbringing was drenched in sex, drugs and rock and roll as my dad would be proud to say, who was also a prominent figure in the Shaolin Temple in NYC, leading to an early childhood understanding of spirituality and eastern philosophy right at home.
My love for astrology began around age 7, when I would go to every interesting person at our dinner parties, gather their birth details, create their charts and discover who they were as people.
As an artist, well, I could paint before I could speak, and often chose to paint instead of speak. I was painfully shy for a long time, and books and art became my solace. My father was an artist, and he would show me how to use oils, how to sharpen a pencil with a knife, and how to draw and paint what I saw and beyond it.
Fastforward through life in NYC in the 90s and early 00s, the relevance of the lifestyle I was raised in, paired with my mother’s more academic and grounded approach, my exploration began, which continued throughout my 20s as I traveled the world. I was mystified by the Eastern Philosophical approaches and methods I learned about meditation and the mind. Very quickly I discovered peak experiences through meditation, which led to an ongoing spiritual emergence where my body shook and convulsed for years and years, while my psyche processed subconscious information of my life, and enabled me the gifts to see beyond my eyes. This process, which began through deep yogic inquiry, living in ashrams and monasteries around Asia, led me to various holistic therapies, and eventually to getting my masters in expressive art therapy, where I could utilize the methods that helped me with others.
Currently, I work as an artist and an expressive arts therapist/coach, as well as a vedic astrologist. I created the Kala Method, which combines elements from kriya yoga, meditation, yoga therapy, Ayurveda, and jyotish, with the expressive art therapies, and energy healing work similar to reiki or the akashic records. Essentially, we use entrainment, attunement, and embodiment, along with creativity, ritual, and intuitive development, to help people discover their intuition, live in alignment, clear subconscious blockages, and utilize both psychotherapeutic and spiritual practices to enhance their relationships, mental health, and career paths through creativity and intuition.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not. I mentioned the spiritual emergence, which is often called a kundalini awakening in yogic texts. My body as quite literally convulsing and shaking involuntarily every minute for years. It felt like reality was melting at times it was so overwhelming because it was often paired with information that would come visually and audibly, however, I was completely grounded and aware throughout. Many people around me who didn’t know what I was going through thought I was just doing great, but on the inside, I was suffering. It was very strange to have this psychedelic-like experience (completely sober) that was ongoing for years, it made it very difficult to operate in normal society, and I did not receive much support from loved ones. However, I was fortunate in that incredible teachers, mentors, therapists, and healers came into my path, supported me with this experience, and taught me how to utilize and master the experience I was having, which is now my greatest gift– my intuition. I have always had my creativity, but this journey really brought me into a deep exploration and research of my thesis on the phenomenon and how often the human psyche is misunderstood. I was so extremely fortunate though, and still am, because I was always able to witness my experience and study it, I always felt that I was a witness, and not entirely engulfed in it, although it was strange at times and difficult to find others who understood. That being said, I experienced loads of struggles that came up in that process, but again, how beautiful because it made me so intimately connected with the psyche, how it works, and how to rewire it, to the point where I have now worked with thousands of clients and got this process down to both an art and a science.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist, both visual and performance, and an expressive arts therapist, an intuitive and a vedic astrologist. Truly, I have a couple dozen certifications because I am a lifelong learner, all within the arts and holistic medicine.
As an artist, I primarily work as a painter and mixed media, using textiles, found objects, printmaking, and other mediums, and you can find some of my work here: Artbylexifaith.com
As an expressive arts therapist, intuitive, astrologist and coach, I utilize the Kala Method, which is my scientifically researched and published method using kriya yoga and vedic sciences, intuitive techniques, and expressive art therapies to help people heal from cptsd, rewire their subconscious and their nervous system through developing creativity and intuition– the two highest forms of intelligence in my opinion. As an intuitive, I do energy healing, readings, and mediumship to support my clients through grief and life transitions.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Luckily, my work traverses over different industries, I have seen and predicted quite a few trends in the coaching industry– such as people’s distrust of Instagrammers getting online and making lofty promises (hence why I got my master’s degree and license as an expressive arts psychotherapist)
In the art world, more and more will become experiential, its already becoming mainstream, but people are tired of being online. The value of the arts is through the social and emotional connection and evolution that occurs when one creates. With more and more young people suffering with their mental health due to changes in technology and how we connect, the need and the demand for in-person and collaborative work is bound to get higher.
In the wellness space, frankly, people are looking for an experience. Unfortunately, there are a lot of blind leading the blind in this arena, which has some costly effects, but consumers need to be extremely vigilant and intuitive when it comes to choosing who they work with. It is a massive blessing to have an unregulated industry that is inherently both creative and scientific, but when working with the psyches of others it is imperative to be trained, licensed, and ethically bound. There’s a maturity required, both on the part of the practitioner as well as on the consumer.
