Today we’d like to introduce you to Leah Elizabeth
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up always really loving art, colour has always fascinated me and how it speaks to me. ive always had an obsession with watching movies and is a huge fashion lover. in the era of YouTube being huge I really got into watching makeup tutorials. I was so amazed with how these products can change your face shapes and how special effects makeup can completely shape shift things.
in 2021 I attended Blanche MacDonald in Vancouver Canada. in that Program I learned various skills, from bridal glam to creating a character for a movie. One of my favourite modules in school was creating a character. Making something completely from out of your imagination is something really special
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After the end of a long term relationship, I rediscovered myself through my love for makeup artistry. It became more than just a creative outlet. It became a path to healing and empowerment. In the art of makeup, I found a way to reconnect with my confidence
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
l’m a professional Makeup artist, I specialize in soft glam with an experimental approach to makeup. I believe makeup is a true art form and requires lots of skill and practice. I love playing with different colors and textures.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
the biggest thing that has helped me connect with people and network is finding groups on social media and attending events that are happening in my city. I think it’s so important to always be curious about others and their unique journey, there is so much that can be learned from everyone’s story. I love learning how other people got to where they are and find that most people are more than happy to offer guidance and advice if you’re willing to put yourself out there and ask.
