Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Tovar.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Laura Tovar I’m a 42 year old single mom of four , I currently live in the city of Lancaster I am a makeup artist and a mobile bar business owner.
I always had a love for makeup ever since I was a kid. I learned a lot of makeup techniques during my 20s watching YouTube. I would always get compliments on my makeup looks and people would ask if I could do theirs, but I didn’t feel confident enough to do it on others until I became certified as a makeup artist in 2021. Afterwards I started taking clients and my business started to grow . I also worked as a bartender in a hotel for about 7 years ,gained plenty of experience bartending and decided to start mobile bartending in 2019 .
Chingonas Bartending really started to grow in 2024 when my friend Mariela Montiel joined me on my bartending events and being that she has her own events business,we joined forces and reached alot more clients.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road .it was really hard not having funds to invest in all the things that are needed to run a business and I still have to work as a server part time in order to make ends meet .i am super grateful for all my clients and i look forward to continue to grow as a Makeup artist and as mobile bartending business owner.

What I love more about being a makeup artist is helping women feel confident and radiant ,it really fills my heart when they look at themselves in the mirror and they appreciate the enhancement to their natural beauty.
And as a mobile bartender I love when people enjoy their drinks you can tell when they come back for more 🙂 and I think one thing that sets me apart is that I love and enjoy so much what I do I’m proud of my professionalism and positivity I really enjoy seeing my clients happy .
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Definitely my sons have been my biggest supporters and cheerleaders always there for me and helping me along the way.
My friend Mariela Montiel deserves credit as well her creativity and outgoing ,happy personality really helped me to become more confident in me.
