Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenia Parada.
Hi Kenia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Kenia Beatriz Parada, I am 26 years old and my birthday is August 18! I am a Leo and I’d like to think I am where I am because of my ambition and positivity. I like to train my mind to always think of the best outcomes when it comes to my business. I started liking makeup at the age of 13. I was so young and at the era shaving your eyebrows and painting them dark black was the thing! I was growing up in my early teenage years in Lynwood, CA and in that pretty brown house on Euclid st. I decided to shave my eyebrows off one day during my shower. I came out terrified because I looked so funny, I knew for a fact my mother would kill me and so she nearly did. She couldn’t believe what I did. Can you imagine that, your 13 years old daughter coming out of her bath with no eyebrows! Hilarious right. Well after that day I started exploring makeup products to now create brows for myself. Eyebrows led to experimenting with eyeliner and mascara and there began my journey with makeup.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been an easy road. Like all crafts, you must go through failures to get better. You must go through the uncomfortable anxiety of thinking will my client like my work, will I execute this look flawlessly. I have trained myself to never show my negative emotions when I’m with clients because I’m a strong believer of the law of vibration. I always keep this in mind there is nothing that can’t be fixed and with that, I always smile and communicate with my client so that they’re always happy at the end.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional Makeup Artist, I love creating art on people’s faces. I love giving someone the opportunity to feel 10x more confident on special events in their life. I am known for my “full glam” when you are my canvas I will give you a transformative look. My makeup will never feel “cakey” heavy or oily! I will always make sure my makeup applications are long-lasting and breathtaking. I must say I’m most proud of my detailed work on the eyes. Smokey waterlines are my thing! I love adding a Smokey waterline to any look as it turns a subtle look to a foxy sexy stare!
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I definitely think my biggest quality is my ambition. I have to stay hungry for improvement and never doubt myself. A negative mind will only lead me to failure.
