Rising Stars: Meet Kendall Scruggs of Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Scruggs.

Hi Kendall, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Los Angeles-based fitness creator, dog-lover, music head, and a connoisseur of matcha lattes and espresso martinis. You can check out my fitness and lifestyle content on Instagram (@kendalloliviaaa) where I share my daily self care regimen: pushing heavy weights in Inglewood followed by picking up a coffee and walking along the water in Marina Del Rey. I intentionally incorporate restorative moment and personal pastimes to highlight the importance of balance in your workout and self-care routines.

Movement has played a critical role in my personal growth and identity development since childhood. I grew up training as a multi-sport athlete, with a deep passion for competitive tennis. I played for over 10 years and was preparing to play at the collegiate level. I tore my MCL just before starting college which shifted everything for me. For the first time, I had to reimagine and rebuild my relationship with movement which ultimately led to a personal transformation.

Over time, I found healing and joy in lifting, group fitness, and holistic wellness practices. As I returned to strength and conditioning training, I learned a deeper life mission that I had all along: a commitment to supporting people through the journey of self-actualization through fitness well-being.

I create content on Instagram and TikTok to share accessible workouts, wellness tips, and lifestyle inspiration. I recently led a 35-day wellness challenge called “Reset & Realign in 35” (#RR35), where I guided a community of 46 people through sustainable practices to re-center their habits and mindset.

I want people to know they’re not alone on their wellness journey. Whether they’re just starting or starting again, I’m here to remind them that they’re capable of transformation.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely been far from a smooth road. After tearing my MCL right before college, I lost not just my competitive tennis career, but a core part of my identity. For over a decade, I was known as “the athlete.” Suddenly, that chapter ended, and I didn’t know who I was without it.

In the years that followed, I struggled deeply with my physical and mental health. I gained 40 pounds, developed an unhealthy relationship with food, and disconnected from the version of myself that once felt so strong and capable. It was one of the lowest periods of my life, not just physically, but emotionally.

My journey back to wellness wasn’t driven by wanting to “look good”, it was about survival, self-love, and healing. Movement became my medicine. It taught me how to rebuild trust in my body, honor my mental health, and care for myself with compassion.

Over the last three years, I’ve had periods where I regained weight, stepped away from the gym during times of stress, and struggled with consistency. And yet, I’ve learned that each season, even the hard ones, matters. My body recomposition has required me to extend grace to myself, no matter what phase I was in or what my body looked like at the time. Every version of me has played a role in this growth. And through it all, I’ve built a deeper relationship with myself, one rooted in care, resilience, and strength that goes far beyond aesthetics.

That lived experience is why I create what I do today. I know how it feels to feel lost in your own skin. I’ve lived through the discomfort and the rebuilding. And now, my mission is to be a voice for others navigating their own reset, to remind them that progress isn’t linear, and that every chapter is part of the story.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a wellness-focused content creator blending fitness, lifestyle, and intentional living through storytelling. I specialize in creating short-form content that feels authentic, grounded, and deeply human, from beginner-friendly strength workouts to cozy cooking reels and reflections on mental health and self-growth. My background as a former competitive athlete informs my approach, but my voice is rooted in real-life wellness
the kind that makes space for grace, imperfection, and joy.

I’m most proud of the community I’ve built and the impact of my Reset & Realign challenge, a 35-day accountability group that grew to over 40 participants in its second round. It reminded me that people are craving more than just tips or trends, they’re looking for connection, encouragement, and ways to feel empowered in their own routines.

What sets me apart is my ability to blend softness with strength. I create content that doesn’t just push performance, it honors healing, balance, and self-respect. Whether I’m lifting at the gym or sharing a wellness routine at home, my goal is to meet people where they are and remind them they’re already worthy, exactly as they are.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Start small, stay consistent, and let your “why” guide you. It’s easy to get overwhelmed or feel like you need to do everything at once, but the real magic happens when you show up imperfectly but intentionally. You don’t need to wait until everything looks polished to begin.

When I first started sharing content, I worried about how it would be perceived. But the more I focused on serving rather than performing, the more aligned and confident I became. People connect to realness, not perfection.

I also wish I knew how powerful community would be. Whether it’s a friend cheering you on, or a group chat of 40+ people resetting their habits with you, don’t underestimate the energy of accountability and shared growth.

You are allowed to take up space, evolve, and build something beautiful, one step at a time.

Want me to tweak the tone, length, or emphasis anywhere? We can workshop these until they feel like a yes in your gut.
