Today we’d like to introduce you to Karanveer Kapoor.
Hi Karanveer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in a family of actors in Bollywood, also both my parents worked in All India Radio as senior announcers they both have their shows on the radio where they broadcast live news, interview famous figures, play songs on the radio. So, from very young age, I was going to the studio. You can say, ‘I was born in a studio’, that generated this passion for music I have. I’m making music since 2014, I produce my first official for one of the famous artists in India when I was 15-16 years old.
In 2018 I came to Los Angeles to pursue my dream & to learn music from the professionals of Hollywood. I joined The Los Angeles Film School to do my associate degree in music production & currently, I’m doing my bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Business from the same school, I’ll be graduating in June this year.
I’ve met amazing people since I came here, so grateful that I got many opportunities to work with them.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every individual has their own struggles & it’s part of life helps you have your human revolution. I have my own share of struggles; it could be either mentally or anything actually. Goal is to never give up on your passion, once you reach the peak of a mountain that’s one victory but then you see a whole new horizon, a whole new quest to complete.
If we have people around who are faithful & caring, then struggles are not that difficult. Family & friends will give you strength to overcome anything.
I chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo to overcome obstacles, it’s a Nichiren Buddhism practice.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At first, I’m a music producer. I love composing, making beats. Just whatever I’m feeling, I put in my music, I do not put myself in any particular genre. If I’m feeling r&b I’ll be making r&b music same goes for any other genres, for example, my first upcoming album is a mixture of r&b, pop, hip-hop little bit of jazz. I’ll be singing as well as producing this album with some featuring artists also. This album will be releasing later this year, recording sessions are started.
Recently I released a compilation album called ‘HIGH-LIGHTS’, which is a trance EDM/r&b music to it.
In 2022, I did a feature film in Los Angeles Produced/Directed by Matteo Saradini & Loreto Di Cesare, Bailey Coppola as the main lead in the movie. It was fun & learned a lot from these amazing artists.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Many people don’t know this, but I’ve written 2 movie scripts & we’re working on the pre-production of it.
