Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Meyer. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Meyer2Meyer Entertainment is owned and operated by Justin and Melissa Meyer, a husband and wife team.
Justin and Melissa have worked in the live entertainment industry together for decades, beginning their careers as performers (singers, actors, and dancers) aboard cruise ships and in regional theaters across the country.
Justin and Melissa were a part of the original 2009 launch of the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, produced by Ten Thirty-One Productions. They spent ten years as Creative Director and Chief Operations Officer for all programming for Ten Thirty-One Productions.
Meyer2Meyer Entertainment owns, creates, and operates several different programs each year, including Haunted Soiree: A Macabre Cocktail Party, which can be found in Los Angeles, NYC, Chicago, Washington DC, Seattle, Nashville, and Dallas as of 2023; as well as Kaleidoscope Experience (a multi-sensory wonderland of whimsical art and characters) and The Bite L.A. (an immersive food festival).
In 2023, Justin and Melissa Meyer purchased a historic theatre located at 324 North Orange Street in Glendale and have re-named it The Nocturne Theatre (formally, it was called The Glendale Centre Theatre), where they will be producing a combination of immersive theatre and traditional theatre productions. Haunted Soiree will be the first show in October, followed immediately by a new musical version of A Christmas Carol in December.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road is ever smooth! We consider ourselves calculated risk takers when it comes developing new and exciting programming, and because of that, we have sometimes come up against difficult challenges.
During 2020, like so many other live event production companies, we were faced with either closing our doors or pivoting with the times. We had to get very creative, but we managed to develop a COVID-safe show concept that kept our business running, our people employed, and our audiences entertained through the Halloween and Winter Holiday seasons.
Also, operating in multiple cities simultaneously has presented its own unique challenges, from having to understand and comply with many different city codes to simply finding the right venues that fit our unique programming. However, our team is filled with highly creative minds, and we feel like we’re equipped for any challenges we might face!

Meyer2Meyer Entertainment is a performing arts and immersive event company specializing in interactive theatrical productions. Our unique formula of theatrical storytelling, variety-show style entertainment, and cinematic character design combine to create a truly unforgettable evening of experiences for our guests.
Using an ‘open-world’ approach, the audience is free to choose their own level of engagement, with freedom to explore and discover our crafted programming at their leisure.
In 2017, Justin and Melissa launched Meyer2Meyer Entertainment with a mission statement that focuses on empowering artists of all talents, hiring them “for employment, not for exposure.”
As a result, Meyer2Meyer Entertainment programming features a wide array of artistic and performance styles, including magic, music, aerial, circus, comedy, dance, improv, just to name a few, all resulting in a modernization of the variety show concept, originally seen in the early days of vaudeville.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
We learned not to take anything for granted! You never know what might end up happening in the world that is completely out of your control. As a young and growing company, we know that now is the time to take those calculated risks I mentioned earlier because there may come a day that we can’t.
