Hi Josh, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Hi there, my name is Josh Schneider, I’m a tattoo artist located in East Hollywood CA. I started my journey with tattooing in Rochester NY, where I’m from originally. I grew up in the 80s on a steady diet of So Cal-influenced culture: music, movies, art, skateboarding, etc, so it made sense that I would want to call LA my home eventually. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Haha, not a smooth road. Moving here pre-internet & cell phones made it a lot harder to connect with people, but I made some lasting friendships & relationships that have lasted to this day.

I am a professional tattoo artist, I’ve been in business since 1999. I specialize in Traditional Japanese, Americana & Horror Style artwork. I also paint in a few different mediums, & have been customizing punk/goth/metal style jackets since 1992.
I’m proud of being able to make a living as an artist In one of the greatest cities in the world. What sets me apart I think, is my interpretation of various styles of imagery, & just putting my spin on the classics.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am an Eagle Scout.
