Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose Guzman.
Hi Jose, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always wanted to be an entertainer since I was a kid, I would always dream to be on TV and make people laugh and be a great influence on so many people out there and I noticed that I’ve even had the personality of being an entertainer because of all of the jokes and stories and celebrity gossip that I would talk about with my friends growing up, however I always knew that I needed to get my education first since education is very important. I remember in my last year of High school, I started watching the talk show called “The Real” and I would enjoy watching the laughter and celebrity gossip from the hosts that it really motivated me into becoming a talk show host because I felt like I was able to do all the celebrity gossip just like them and I even felt like I had the humor just like them as well. When I first started having an interest in hosting a show, I was making sure I was fully focused on watching “The Real” and any other talk show in order to know what exactly I was suppose to do in a talk show since I noticed that there was alot of huge things I had to learn from hosting then just talk infront of a camera and I did not wanted to make myself look like a fool at all. So then afterwards I went to Riverside City College and majored in Communications and I ended up taking these communication classes that were a bit challenging to me since it was a bit of a nerve wreck having to do speech presentations infront of a whole class but yet I did my very best doing them by making sure I had a good tone in my voice and good rhythm with my voice especially since I knew that it was very important for my career and thank God I ended up passing all of those classes and that was when I ended up opening myself up a bit more as a person and had more confidence to be more of a outspoken person that I was starting to feel proud of myself. Later on I graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Communications from Riverside City College and am now doing bigger things such as doing my talk show which is “The Jose Show” which is currently on my instagram and Youtube were I get to talk all things about celebrity gossip and have some humor in order to bring joy and laughter to so many people that are watching and make a great influence as well. This show to me is like my best friend because it has prepared me and motivated me so much on expressing myself and to talk about whatever comes out of my heart and most importantly have the chance to be myself that it has always put me in a happy mood regardless of what kind of day I’m having, my goal is to get noticed even more in the future and to become a bigger talk show host or personality so I could be able to entertain more people, inspire more people and even interview big artists. I am also currently going to University of California Riverside were I am majoring in Media and Cultural Studies were I am currently learning more about the talk show business and so much more and am working on getting a Bachelor’s Degree from that major as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road for me since I was having such a hard time deciding on what I wanted to do throughout college because I was nervous to get in and do the things that I wanted to do because I was afraid of failure and I did not want to be known as this guy that fails in life since I did not want to get laughed at nor judged at all. However, those feelings made me stronger and value myself more in life that it has gotten me far.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Talk Show Host and an entertainer and I love to entertain people since I think it is fun having to get people amused with what I do and I also love to make people laugh since I think laughter is good for everyone, especially whenever they are having a bad day. Having to Gossip about what’s going on with all these celebrities is something that I am so good at and that I am so proud of doing since it has made me more smart and confident with my own opinions and it has made me grow so much since I’ve grown more socially and mentally that I am very open to talking to anyone especially when it comes to talking about celebrity gossip and most importantly to be myself.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My best advice for everyone that wants to find a mentor is to make sure you are looking for someone that really knows what you want, that is honest with you and that is experienced with whatever it is that you want to do because the people that are honest and experienced are the ones that will tell you things like they are and will guide you to doing big things. What I did when I first started off becoming an entertainer on Instagram was to talk to people that are experienced in the entertainment business and I started to put alot of hashtags on my content in order to become bigger and bigger and I am honestly extremely grateful to have met those people.
