Rising Stars: Meet Jaycee Mnirajd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaycee Mnirajd.

Hi Jaycee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Kansas. Growing up, I’d always wanted to cut, color, and style my cousin’s & friend’s hair. My Los Angeles journey all started when I came out to visit my best friend, Eddie ten years ago. I couldn’t get over how beautiful California and the weather was. So I packed up all of my stuff and moved here six months after. I assisted two very talented people hair stylists in Beverly Hills, Adam Campbell @adamcampbellhair and Judy Kasai @jmkolorist. I stuck to my passion with hair and hoped that someone would recognize my craft/ skill.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Lol. Is there such a thing as a smooth road? So many struggles. At one point, I worked at four different jobs. But I knew that coming from Kansas, I’d have to start from the bottom and learn from hairstylists in the industry. The hard times definitely taught me a lot and made me the person I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a hairstylist. I specialize in hair styling. I am known for an effortless look. I am proud to have worked with so many talented people in the industry. I think my low-key / calm energy sets me apart from others. I love to make people I work with feel relaxed and calm. It’s all about good vibes & positive energy!

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Learning from your mistakes and always learning from others.
