Missy was raised in a real estate family and learned early on the value of property ownership and investment. At just 23 years old, she launched her career at Douglas Elliman on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, where she became the youngest agent in the office at the time. After a successful first year in the competitive New York City market, we made the decision to move back to California—where Jason was born and raised—to build both our life and our business together.

Before joining Missy in real estate full-time, Jason worked in marketing and advertising, gaining valuable experience in brand building, creative strategy, and client service. This background became a major asset to our real estate business, giving us an edge in how we present properties, craft marketing campaigns, and connect with buyers in an authentic and impactful way.

We spent nearly a decade selling homes on the Westside of Los Angeles, honing our skills across a wide range of properties and neighborhoods. In 2010, we relocated to Calabasas to raise our daughter and plant deeper roots in a community that felt like home.

Over the past 20+ years in the real estate business, we’ve grown The Improta Team into one of the area’s most trusted real estate brands, serving Calabasas, Hidden Hills, and the surrounding communities. While our real estate journey has been incredibly rewarding, it hasn’t always been easy. Like any business built from the ground up, we’ve faced our share of challenges—from navigating shifting markets to balancing the demands of growing a family and a business at the same time. There were times early on when deals fell apart, markets turned unexpectedly, or the path forward felt uncertain. But we learned quickly that success in real estate isn’t about avoiding obstacles—it’s about meeting them head-on with resilience, creativity, and heart.

Through it all, dedication, tenacity, and an unwavering commitment to our clients have been our guiding principles. We’ve never treated real estate as a “transactional” business; for us, it’s deeply personal. Every client represents a relationship built on trust, and every home we sell carries real meaning. By staying focused on doing the right thing, working tirelessly to deliver results, and genuinely caring about the people we serve, we’ve been able to not just survive — but thrive. Beyond just selling homes, we pride ourselves on offering full-service, high-touch representation—whether that means smart marketing strategies, sharp negotiation, or simply being there when clients need honest advice.

We’re known for our market knowledge, our genuine care for our clients, and the relationships we build long after the sale is done. Many of our clients become close friends, and a large portion of our business comes from referrals and repeat clients—which is something we’re incredibly proud of.
