Rising Stars: Meet Jasie Style

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasie Style.

Hi Jasie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Back in the day, in Chicago, I use to borrow books from libraries to learn about designers, fashion history, fabrics, wardrobe, and trends.

In 2015 I took my head out of the books and into the world abroad. I spent that entire summer strutting across Europe with an itinerary centered around Men’s Fashion Weeks, designer exhibitions, and fashion museums. As Fall was approaching, I decided it was time to explore the fashion world of Asia.

In 2016 I had an apprenticeship in tailor-making in Vietnam. This is where I designed shoes and a wardrobe for my vacations to Thailand and Bali. I even lucked up on an opportunity to travel Egypt to learn how the real OG’s created and used dyes and jewelry to adorn themselves.

I got first-hand views inside how many cultures and social classes expressed themselves through style globally.

2017 I took my first formal styling course in NYC – and later completed personal, menswear, and fashion styling.

2018 I accepted a styling role at a national menswear retail store that emphasized elevating personal style through fit and tailoring. Here is where I re-joined the corporate world. Life was going as expected until 2020.

2020 – Moved to LA after the pandemic snatched away my 6 Figures salary position.

My one and only goal was to get my work published in a fashion magazine. My first photoshoot after settling in here, that goal was accomplished. Within my first year, my work graced the front covers of Nat’l and Int’l magazines, worked with celebrities, music videos, fashion shows, and led the wardrobe department on several productions for Global brands.

Within that time, I realized I had a bigger purpose and decided it was time for a pivot. I wanted to use my experience working on big productions to help individuals with personal brands and business brands position themselves like the clients I’ve had over the past year. I was going to use style to do so.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I moved to LA without a network and started a fresh career. So building from scratch in a new city has its own challenges.

I don’t know if anyone is can relate to this, but one of my biggest struggles I face is releasing my work.

After my first big production with BuzzFeed, I was inspired to create my own campaign that placed me in front of the camera. I pulled out all the bells and whistles for my own production. Hired a production company, cast, and crew for a 6-hour Jasie Style production. Only problem is I’ve been holding on to this project for over 1 year now.

Unfortunately, this is not the only project I’ve been keeping under wraps.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I help individuals with personal brands or business brands show up confidently.

I specialize in styling for big moments, on and off camera.

Best known for getting the job done with grace!

I’m most proud of my natural ability to figuring things out and moving to LA with nothing but two suitcases and a goal, and turning that into a career is a testament to that.

I’ve learned many business owners and creatives try to hide behind their work. That was me too until a business coach told me I have to become the face of my brand. Now, I’m passionate about helping other business owners and creatives step into their light and shine as the powerhouse they really are.

Although I work in a creative industry, my background in corporate allows me the approach every project with a standard of professionalism that carries through from start to finish.

How do you think about luck?
Luck doesn’t exist in my reality. It’s all God. And God has played the biggest role in my life and business. From having the grace to travel the world to moving to a new city without a support group during the middle of a pandemic and finding success. None of my stories is short of amazing.

I know luck had nothing to do with my journey. I don’t even believe in coincidences. The way the universe unfolds for us is put simply, majestic.
