Rising Stars: Meet Jas Jutley of LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jas Jutley.

Jas, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Professionally named Jas Jutley, I am a Punjabi Afro American who has dedicated his life to music. From early on playing instruments such as the saxophone and discovering new worldly music through family life, Bollywood to Hollywood I got to experience it all, I developed a passion to be creative with my growing musical talents once I got into recording after high school and discovering my love for HipHop. Settling into the DJ/Artist world, Traveling from California to Miami and everywhere in-between cultivating vibes is my mission. Gaining to new lasting relationships and Networking to always uplift the mood when I step in the room

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. I’ve battled with self esteem issues my entire life. I come from a family that music wasn’t looked at as a sustainable way of living. Multiple financial set backs. Some days I didn’t even eat because I was fixated on growing and providing a better life for my family. Moving from Atlanta back to Wisconsin was hard because I felt liked I failed when I couldn’t sustain a healthy life or continue to be successful in my career as a DJ. Also Dealing with aging parents and their health problems from so far away has taken a toll on me since I am family man at the end of the day.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a DJ, I specialize in Top 40 hits, 70s-80s Disco/Funk, Hip-Hop, Soca, Reggae, Afrobeats, R&B, etc. I have done multiple venues across Wisconsin/Georgia from Bar/Club gigs, Weddings, Graduations, Charity Events, Festivals, Conventions and even Concerts. Here are some proud and notable venues I’ve gotten to perform in

Summerfest – Milwaukee WI
The Rave – Milwaukee WI
Freakfest – Madison WI
Fiserv Forum ( Milwaukee Bucks Stadium) Milwaukee
Our Bar ATL – Atlanta
Liv3 Lounge – Atlanta
Inner City Cigar Lounge – Atlanta

I think what sets me apart from other DJs is that I’m always looking to bring good vibes at all times. I’m an avid dancer as well so I don’t appreciate when people come to the club just sit on the wall. Always looking to keep it moving and grooving on the dance floor.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
A lot of the music industry will be challenged to stay new and fresh especially with AI becoming more advanced and Record Labels looking more at artists as trends and not as creative beings. To keep the organic build of one’s music, they will have to work to create relationships one on one with consumers and as well as Radio DJs since streaming platforms do not pay artists as well as they need to be.
