Rising Stars: Meet Jacqueline Reyes of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Reyes.

Hi Jacqueline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in LA. From a young age I enjoyed the arts through singing, dancing, and acting. My first professional job was being a background dancer in middle school for an old show called “Big Love” but when people ask, I often mention my first real job as a parade dancer as Disneyland during my college years. Eventually I moved away from LA to pursue that career in Asia, but quickly moved back to start as an actor, model, and content creator. Now I work full time in the industry and have made a reputable name for myself amongst production companies.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Working in the industry will always have its fair share of bumps and bruises, as well as victories. The reality is that it’s a rollercoaster of highs, lows, and stagnant energy- even if no one wants to admit that. I was lucky to get signed to my first modeling agency, Aston models, at 19 while I pursued a dance career. But when I decided to go full time as an adult living on my own after college, it was bumpy. A lot of people have this misconception that having an agent will change your career- but your career is only dependent on your hard work and how sellable you are. I’m very thankful to the people in my life who trained my eye and gave me great feedback to get to where I am today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently work full time as a Model, Commercial Actor, and Content Creator. I’ve often been told that what sets me aside from others is my accountability, experience, and energy. These three attributes have taken me very far on set and behind the computer. I specialize in hosting and teleprompter work. The ability to read and act naturally has taken me really far. I think I’m most proud of my Dr Squatch Campaign commercial. It wasn’t the biggest job I’ve worked on but it was definitely the most memorable to most people.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’m not sure how much luck has played, but I do think timing has played a huge role.
