Today we’d like to introduce you to Iyan Lee.
Hi Iyan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Well, to start, I’m originally from Baton Rouge, LA. I am also a Rapper/Artist. So, I moved to California 2020 during the pandemic to pursue music and see what is out there. Never been to California until I moved. So, I took a leap of faith and jumped so to speak. I lived in hotels for 4 months before I got my own place with a roommate, thanks to my cousin I met when I came to California. Still is to this day. Since then, I’ve dropped an album, worked with countless people, dropped singles, and working on my second album right now currently. I got here because I didn’t give up. There’s no telling where I will go from here. But That’s motivation enough.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working and hustling to get money has been tough, from working Uber Eats just to get food on my plate. But also dropping music and networking from that was the biggest challenge.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Rapper/Artist; I like to make bars, metaphors, and tell stories. My music is very different from anybody because I actually take the time to craft and work on my profession.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
So far, I’ve been my own mentor in a nutshell
