Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Zoller.
Hi Isaac, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Grew up near the ocean in Laguna Beach, CA. Always spent time at the beach with family and friends. Got into surfing soon after that and eventually started documenting the scenes that were close to me. Photography has always intrigued me and I fell in love with it when I was in high school. I went to UCSB and majored in film and media studies. After I graduated, I kept shooting what interested me: live music, surfing (and the lifestyle surrounding), landscapes, traveling to new destinations. I became somewhat bored with photographing the same things all the time so I decided to challenge myself and learn to shoot portraits. Now I think my favorite photos are a combination of all of those aspects.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely not a very high-paying job and is sometimes challenging finding new clients to build relationships with.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love shooting 35mm film on my travels and video of surf trips. It’s very rewarding capturing the best waves of a trip to be able to watch them over and over years later.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram or if you want to support me, you can buy one of my pieces online through the taipan collective.
