Today we’d like to introduce you to Hunny Bee.
Hi Hunny, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My DJ career was born out of a lifelong passion for music. As a teen, I used to study and write about underground music and new up-and-coming artists. I loved listening to mixtapes and learning about the original samples that inspired new music. I started learning how to DJ in 2019 when I attended a DJ camp called Camp Spin-Off. The camp was for teens but I spoke with the owner about working at the camp in exchange for free classes. During the pandemic when everything shut down, it was the perfect time for me to practice and hone my natural skills. In 2021, I started my Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@djhunnybee to share my mashup ideas and let others in on my learning journey. About one year later, I hit 100,000 followers and my career really started to blossom just as the world was opening back up.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m blessed to say it actually has been a smooth road. Learning new skills, especially new technology is always a bit challenging but because of my knowledge of music, it came pretty naturally to me. Sharing my experience and talents on social media really helped to expedite my growth and I’ve taken a really strategic approach to launching myself as an up-and-coming DJ. I still have a lot to learn about the industry as well as skills to build and I’m excited to continue this journey. I’ve also been connected to an incredibly supportive DJ community (through Camp Spin-Off) which has had a huge impact on my growth as well.

My specialty is taking old-school iconic music and mixing it with new-school music.
I’m most proud of my accomplishments in such a short time. Not only have I grown my social media accounts to almost 200,000 across Tik Tok, Instagram and Youtube but I’ve also worked with DJ’d for some iconic brands including, Amazon, Tik Tok, Tula Skincare, Beverly Center and more.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Consistency is the most important thing which really speaks to work ethic. If you are truly dedicated to accomplishing something, you need to show up consistently to see the results you want to see.
