Today we’d like to introduce you to HEAVEN MACPHERSON.
Hi HEAVEN, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Alabama with big dreams and an unstoppable drive to build something extraordinary. That drive eventually took me to New York City, where I put myself through school and worked my way up to running multimillion-dollar brands in fashion, entertainment, and business development. I was living in Manhattan during 9/11, and surviving that tragedy changed me forever. It taught me how fragile life can be — and how strong we truly are when everything falls apart.
Years later, I became a single mom, raising my son Maverick on my own while continuing to build my career. Every decision was to create a life filled with love, stability, and opportunity for him. Eventually, we moved to the Pacific Palisades so Maverick could grow up in a close-knit, inspiring community and attend Marquez Charter School. It felt like the beginning of a beautiful new chapter — until the Palisades fires swept through our neighborhood, destroying everything – our home, all of our belongings, and Maverick’s school overnight.
In the chaos and heartbreak that followed, Maverick and I evacuated to the home of my then-boyfriend, Brad Beckerman. What I didn’t know at the time was that Brad would become our anchor through the storm. He showed up for us in every possible way — emotionally, spiritually, and physically — helping us rebuild not just our life, but our sense of safety and hope.
Brad’s an incredible entrepreneur and creative visionary — the founder of Trunk LTD, Stillhouse, and a branding force who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, fashion, and lifestyle. But beyond all of that, he’s our rock. In July, Brad asked me to marry him — a moment that turned one of the darkest chapters of my life into one of the brightest.
Together, we’re now creating ROCKCORN, a bold, ROCKCORN is a bold, rock-and-roll-inspired, full-flavored popcorn brand that’s unapologetically anti-diet culture — celebrating resilience, rebellion, and joy in every bite. — with major success planned for 2026. For me, ROCKCORN isn’t just a business. It’s proof that you can lose everything and still come back louder, stronger, and full of life.
Alongside this exciting new venture, I continue my work as a voiceover artist and model. My voice has been featured in shows like Archer and in collaborations with legendary filmmakers including Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh, Denis Leary, and Ron Howard. Storytelling — whether through voice, brand, or business — has always been my heartbeat.
Every step of my journey — from surviving 9/11 to surviving the fires — has taught me that reinvention is always possible. Maverick remains my reason and my rhythm — the heartbeat behind everything I do.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road — but I’ve come to realize that the most meaningful paths rarely are. My journey has included both trauma and transformation. I’m a survivor of childhood abuse, and for a long time, I carried the weight of that silently. Healing from that kind of pain takes years — and courage I didn’t always think I had. But over time, I learned that surviving isn’t the end of the story; reclaiming your voice is.
In my adult life, I faced new challenges — from surviving 9/11 while living in New York, to navigating a divorce and raising my son Maverick on my own. Being a single mother while building a career in entertainment and brand development taught me strength in ways I could never have imagined. I wanted Maverick to grow up surrounded by opportunity, which led us to Pacific Palisades, where he attended Marquez Charter School.
Then came the Palisades fires, which destroyed our home and Maverick’s school overnight. That was a breaking point — and, unexpectedly, a breakthrough. My fiancé Brad Beckerman was there for us in every possible way. His compassion and steadiness helped me rebuild, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
Each of these moments — the trauma, the loss, the reinvention — became part of my evolution. Out of it came ROCKCORN, the company Brad and I are building together. For me, it’s not just popcorn — it’s proof that life can burn down to the ground and still come back brighter, louder, and full of love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At my core, I’m a storyteller — whether through voice, brand, or business. My work has always been about creating connection and emotion: building things that make people feel something real.
As a voiceover artist, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with legendary filmmakers including Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh, Denis Leary, Ron Howard, and on projects like FX’s Archer. I love the craft of using my voice to bring stories to life — to find truth, tone, and humanity in every word.
Beyond the mic, I’m an entrepreneur and brand strategist, currently pouring my heart into ROCKCORN, the rock-and-roll-inspired gourmet popcorn brand I’m building with my fiancé, Brad Beckerman. ROCKCORN is full-flavored, bold, and proudly anti-diet culture — celebrating resilience, rebellion, and joy. It’s not about being “skinny” or “guilt-free”; it’s about savoring life and flavor without apology. We’re gearing up for a major 2026 launch, and it feels like the most authentic expression of everything I’ve lived through.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the success — it’s the determination. I’ve survived childhood trauma, 9/11, single motherhood, and loss — and turned it all into fuel for creativity, compassion, and purpose.
What sets me apart is my foundation. I live by a strong Buddhist faith that reminds me daily that we all have infinite potential — that pain can transform into strength, and setbacks into victory and to never give up. I don’t follow trends; I create impact through inspiration. Everything I build — whether it’s a brand, a story, or a life — comes from that belief: that we can all rise, rebuild, and become the best version of ourselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness is an inside job! Never seeking outside of myself for it — unless it’s good food, music and exploring the world! What makes me happy is connection — creating it, feeling it, and witnessing it in others. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by people I love, doing work that feels purposeful, and helping others see what’s possible for themselves.
My son Maverick is at the center of my happiness. Watching him grow, learn, and discover who he is fills me with joy every single day. He’s the reason I keep pushing, dreaming, and building. Every milestone he reaches reminds me that all the challenges were worth it.
I’m also deeply happy when I’m creating — whether it’s voicing a character, developing a brand, or building something like ROCKCORN that inspires joy in others. Creativity has always been my healing language.
And at the heart of it all is my Buddhist practice, which grounds me in gratitude and reminds me that happiness isn’t something we chase — it’s something we cultivate. Chanting each morning and night helps me transform fear into strength and doubt into purpose. It keeps me centered in appreciation, even when life feels uncertain.
True happiness, for me, is knowing that I’ve turned pain into power, loss into love, and purpose into peace — and that, through it all, I’m still here, still creating, still believing.
