Today we’d like to introduce you to Georgia Howe.
Hi Georgia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been working in interior design for as long as I can remember. I grew up in New York City and during summer breaks from college I would intern for a designer once I graduated from college I went to work for several different interior designers before opening a small retail shop specializing in antiques and home accessories at that point I started taking on my own clients. Eventually, I moved to LA and started to build my business here. I joke I’m in so deep there is literally nothing else I can do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is a smooth road especially when building a business. I opened my store in 2007 right before the worst financial crisis so I had to weather that storm which was not easy. And then I moved to LA where I essentially had to start from the beginning building a business in a new place. But I’m proud of the business I built here and all our wonderful projects.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have high-end residential interior design business as well as a recently launched wallpaper line.
What were you like growing up?
I was always more creative. I loved art and theater and was never all that interested in sports. I always loved to work though when I was young, I was always looking for ways to make money setting up lemonade stands or coming up with different business ideas babysitting etc. I got a real job the first chance I could – selling funnel cakes and the New York City street fairs I think I was 13.
