Today we’d like to introduce you to Eunice Lim.
Eunice, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I actually started out in nursing school—and failed the program. At the time, it felt devastating, but that “closed door” forced me to rediscover what I’d always loved: art, creative expression, and helping people. Out of that desperation to find a new path, I pursued marriage and family therapy with a focus on clinical art therapy. Over time, I began weaving together my passions for art, somatic awareness, and Christian faith to help women heal from burnout, anxiety, and self-doubt. Today, I run a fully remote private practice specializing in art therapy and mind-body-spirit integration, where I support women in restoring emotional balance, deepening faith, and reconnecting with their authentic selves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely not been smooth. Burnout, self-doubt, and the pressure to have it all figured out have been real struggles for me. One of the hardest parts was letting go of the image of what I thought my career “should” look like and giving myself permission to create something new and more authentic. Those challenges are exactly what led me to the work I do now—helping women navigate those same feelings with more compassion and creativity.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a licensed psychotherapist, I’m honored to walk alongside women who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck—helping them rediscover who they are and build gentle, sustainable rhythms of renewal.
What really sets my work apart is how I bring creativity, evidence-based approaches, and faith into the healing process. I integrate art therapy with trauma-informed modalities such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic exercises—creating a space where emotions like anger, grief, and anxiety can be safely expressed and transformed. I also enjoy guiding clients through visualizations to tune into their bodies rather than overthinking their struggles, using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping to calm the nervous system, or exploring art to uncover deeper needs and desires. For clients who wish to incorporate their Christian faith, I weave in scriptural encouragement and prayerful support.
One of the projects I’m most proud of is Ugly Art Sunday—a video series I share on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube that invites people to explore art therapy without the pressure to be perfect, or even to be in therapy. It’s a gentle and accessible way to engage in creative healing, especially for those who might not have access to therapy right now.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Mentorship for me has often looked like staying curious and asking questions—whether to supervisors, colleagues, or friends. I’ve never had a single “mentor” per se; instead, it’s been a collection of small, meaningful relationships with people who were just a step or two ahead of me. I’ve learned the most by remaining curious—attending workshops, participating in trainings, and having honest conversations with those I meet along the way.
One of my greatest sources of guidance, though, has been my quiet time with God each morning, where I receive inspiration, encouragement, and clarity about my work and direction. When it comes to networking, I’ve found that the best connections happen when I show up authentically and lead with service—sharing who I am and how I can help, rather than trying to impress. The relationships that last are the ones built on genuine connection, curiosity, and mutual encouragement.
