Rising Stars: Meet Elin Minassian of Beverly Hills CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elin Minassian

Hi Elin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey in the aesthetic and nursing fields began at the age of 18 when I started working at a medical spa. It was there where I first encountered treatments like lasers and injectables, which sparked a deep passion for the industry and led me to apply to nursing school. By 20, I was pursuing my degree at West Coast University.

Despite my enthusiasm for nursing, my heart remained with aesthetics. After graduating at 23, I applied to various medical spas until I finally secured a position. Initially, my role focused on skin treatments and lasers, but I was eager to expand my skills. I invested my time in many additional training and continually demonstrated my commitment to advancing my expertise. At the same time, I decided to apply to a nurse practitioner program to advance my education and deepen my ability to care for my patients. I recognized that becoming a nurse practitioner would allow me to provide more comprehensive and holistic care. This role would enable me to conduct thorough exams and serve as a trusted provider, addressing any additional needs my patients might have and ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
The aesthetic industry is both competitive and demanding, and I have dedicated myself to ongoing education and practice. Alongside the trainings building a solid patient base and creating a portfolio of compelling before-and-after results have been integral to my development as a provider.

Fast forward to now, I am currently working at AÈRE Aesthetics in Beverly Hills by Neekan Rivera PA- C who was actually one of the first injectors I began following when I started in aesthetics. My goal was to be trained by her when I first started out many years ago and now many years later I’m working alongside her and some of the best injectors in the industry. Working in Beverly Hills had long been a dream of mine, and I’ve always aimed to excel and grow within the industry. I believe in the importance of continuous learning to enhance patient care and knew I wanted to grow with likeminded professionals.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely been a bumpy road but it has been worth it and I wouldn’t take back any of it as it has made me who I am today. As I’ve mentioned, the aesthetic industry is highly competitive, and standing out hinges on the quality of work you deliver. Prioritizing patient results and safety is crucial. Early in my career, like many other aesthetic providers I faced challenges such as being turned down for training opportunities and being strung along. I was also told once that without being “handed opportunities” I wouldn’t have got to where I am. In reality, it was my own skill and dedication that propelled me forward. Just as not everyone can create art with a paintbrush, not everyone has the same level of skill and commitment. You can’t simply pick up a needle and start injecting; it requires an artistic eye, extensive knowledge of anatomy, and a strong emphasis on safety to achieve the best results. It’s essential to understand who is a suitable candidate for specific treatments and to know when to decline a procedure. These qualities are not something that can be instilled in you by others—they must be developed through experience and dedication. One thing I like to remind everyone entering any field is that In life when you start growing and showing your full potential and being recognized for it is when you realize who is truly there by your side rooting for your success. Always surround yourself with the ones you can grow with and don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an aesthetic nurse practitioner, I take a holistic approach and specialize in achieving natural results. I consider the entire face when treating a patient, as balance and harmonization are key to maintaining natural aesthetics. I also have a specialty in creating beautifully natural lips.
I am extremely proud of being an honest provider, which I believe is crucial in our industry. My top priority is my patients and their safety. If I determine that a patient is not a suitable candidate for a particular treatment, I will not proceed. I am dedicated to educating my patients to help them maintain their best appearance. At our practice our focus is on natural results and a holistic approach ensures that patients know they are in the best hands.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
