Rising Stars: Meet Eden Rountree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eden Rountree.

Hi Eden, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved design and became particularly fascinated with staging when I was shopping for my own home. How the furniture and the layout and the art, etc., could create such a vibe and genuinely help buyers envision themselves in the space. Purchasing a house can be an emotional process!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Setting up a staging company can be daunting. The amount of inventory that is needed to fill a house top to bottom is no joke. It took a while for the staging to really align with what I had in my brain, as I was only able to buy pieces as I booked each job. So, the items I bought in the beginning were out of necessity rather than stuff I was crazy about. In addition, this job can be physically demanding. I think that the idea of staging can be very kind of romantic… styling shelves and arranging art. Which it is, but it also involves carrying bins and furniture and rugs and art and plants in and out and up and down.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Odin and Friday Home Staging is a boutique company that offers a more personalized, less cookie-cutter approach to staging. I appreciate how spaces make me feel, and my hope is that I’m able to help homebuyers fall in love when they walk into a property we have staged.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Relationships! It all comes down to working together with other people. From the realtors who really gave me a shot at the beginning and continue to use me today to building a team of talented individuals. When there is loyalty and trust and respect between those that work together, magic can happen.

Also, get ready to bust your ass on the daily!
