Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Tahlia Paris.
Hi DJ Tahlia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started to DJ because I was always in charge of playing music in the car/ at friend’s parties…people liked my taste in music. I saw DJing as a way to add an extra flair to my modeling career and express myself and creativity with another outlet.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a decent transition, but I would say it’s been a difficult time to really grow as a DJ. When I really got comfortable and ready to start spinning at large events, COVID happened, and everything shut down. It’s nearly impossible to get any bookings at the moment. It’s also been easy in the sense that I’ve had the time to just further my business as a whole and grow my brand from the ground up, DJing at smaller events and private parties.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So, I actually just had my first single drop which I am so excited about and very proud of, and I thought it would be a good idea to drop a clothing line around my single. What sets me apart from most DJs, which is another reason why I decided to start doing what I do, is because there aren’t many female DJs out there, so it’s more in demand.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
The best advice I can give anyone is just to network as much as possible. The more people you know, and the more connections that you have, the more chances and opportunities you will have to go further, 100%.
