Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Resolution
Hi DJ Resolution, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
From a young age growing up in Germany, I’ve always been passionate about music. As a teenager, I loved sharing songs, creating playlists, and burning CDs for my friends. I would translate English songs into German so my friends could understand the lyrics. I was always collecting songs, cassettes & CD albums.
As a young adult, I had a strong desire to be my own boss, work for myself, and be independent. I moved to the USA to fulfill that dream, realizing that becoming a DJ was my calling. Later, I started to learn about DJ history and was inspired by DJ Kool Herc’s legendary block parties in the 70s. Learning about the culture and history of DJing inspired me to become a better DJ.
Now, I provide soundtracks for many corporate events and nightclubs. Some highlights was dJing at the SoFi Stadium, NFL private events, women’s retreats, and iconic Los Angeles hotels such as the Fairmont Century Plaza, the Maybourne Hotel, and Beverly Hilton, as well as weddings and clubs throughout Los Angeles. My mission is always to create unforgettable moments.
My passion for music led me to study and successfully major in the music business studies which led to to work with the Respect Music organization. As the lead DJ at the Respect Music Foundation, I support emerging artists and help raise awareness for legendary artists to regain music ownership in the current music industry state.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a female DJ in a male-dominated industry, I’ve faced many obstacles along the way. Back then, male DJs were often preferred for bookings, but thankfully, that is gradually changing. As a female DJ, I’ve had to work twice as hard to prove myself and have often been judged more critically. Despite the challenges, it’s all been worth it to pursue my passion for DJing.
DJ events and gigs can also be quite unpredictable. You might be booked months in advance, only to have plans suddenly change due to last-minute cancellations. It’s taught me to stay adaptable and resilient in this industry—flexibility is key to rolling with the punches.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an open-format DJ from Germany that is based in Los Angeles. I specialize in DJing for a wide range of events, from corporate gatherings and nightclubs to private luxury events, weddings, and djing at iconic Los Angeles hotels. I’m known for creating unforgettable moments and curating each playlist to suit individual events.
I take pride in DJing for high-end brands, successfully completing events, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Furthermore, I am proud of working with the Respect Music campaign to raise awareness of outdated copyrights and help legendary artists regain their musical ownership, such as Too Short, JJ Fad, Public Enemy, JT Money, to name a few.
What sets me apart is my strong dedication to this craft and my commitment to staying consistent.
