Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Monique
Hi Destiny , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Destiny Monique Arredondo. I am originally from Houston Texas but I have been living in Los Angeles for a while now. I moved out to California at a very young age after joining the Marine Corps. I was stationed near Sandiego. While serving in the military I used to drive up to LA on the weekends just for fun and this is where I guess you can say I stumbled apon the entertainment bug. I had done a little modeling in high school and I started to model again getting little jobs here and there on the weekends in LA. After my 4 year term in the Marine Corps I moved up to Los Angeles to Persue Modeling and acting a little more. I was able to land consistent gigs mostly modeling for magazines and lots of print work. Years later Instagram was born and I found myself transitioning over to YouTube as well. Print work now turned to online modeling and working with brands. I love it! I not only work in entertainment but I also invest my money in realestate. I have been doing this since I was in the military as well and following in my parents footsteps I have been constantly growing that business as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We all have struggles so I feel like you can either dwell on it or see it as life lessons. Rejection is all a part of this game I play so I have had lots of that but I also know that in order to be successful you just have to keep pushing forward. I don’t think anyone successful has or has had a smooth road ahead of them. The bumps along are all apart of the process.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work as a full time content creator/Model and influencer. According to Google I am an “Internet Personality”. lol This is all still new to alot of us but I love it and I love where it’s going. My main two platforms that I use are Instagram and YouTube. I have an unboxing, hauls and vlogs channels. I love to also share lots of my investing endeavors there as well.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I love to network online. I will admit I am not as great of a networker in person but online I feel really comfortable. I meet a lot of other models/content creators/influencers online. I love to meet other likeminded people, especially if they are not only creative but also business minded.
