Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Acevedo
Hi Destiny, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in New York, where my journey began in the most challenging of circumstances. Growing up without parents, I learned early on that life doesn’t hand you anything for free. It was a constant battle just to survive, let alone dream of a future. Despite the hardships, I held onto the belief that there had to be something more out there for me.
After college, I made the decision that I wasn’t going to let my past define my future. I wanted to make something of myself, and for me, that meant stepping out of my comfort zone and taking a chance. On a whim of faith, I packed up and moved to California, not knowing anyone, not having a solid plan, and certainly not knowing what to expect.
The first few years in California were incredibly difficult. I faced financial struggles, and at times, homelessness felt like a constant companion. But through it all, I never lost sight of my goal. I pushed through the sleepless nights and the uncertainty because I knew that if I kept going, I would find a way to build the life I wanted.
In 2023, I took the leap and started my own business. It wasn’t easy—there were days I didn’t think I could keep going—but I had come too far to quit now. The road hasn’t been smooth; in fact, it’s been anything but. Yet, here I am, still in California, still holding onto that dream and still running my business, even though it hasn’t yet taken off in the way I envisioned.
A few years later, I’m not exactly where I want to be, but I’m exactly where I need to be. I’ve come a long way from the streets of New York and the rough days in California, and I know that, in time, my business will grow into what I’ve always hoped for. The struggle hasn’t broken me, it’s shaped me, and I’m more determined than ever to see my vision come to life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Growing up without parents was the foundation of my struggles. My mother passed away when I was young, leaving me with a profound sense of loss that never quite healed. My father, unfortunately, wanted nothing to do with me. I was left to navigate the world on my own, and the weight of that absence shaped the person I am today. Many in my extended family didn’t offer support, and for a long time, it felt like I was truly alone in this world. However, I’m incredibly grateful for the few close ones who stood by me, who believed in me when it felt like no one else did. Their support has been a constant reminder that no matter how tough life gets, I’m not without love.
When I made the bold decision to move to California, it felt like a fresh start, but the transition was far from easy. The environment was drastically different from New York, and the people didn’t seem to understand me the way I was used to. California had a different pace, a different energy, and in the midst of it all, I often found myself feeling isolated and alone. The loneliness was overwhelming at times, and I struggled to find my footing.
Financial problems followed me across the country, and at times, I didn’t know where my next meal would come from. There were moments when I was homeless, living out of hotel rooms, or crashing on the couch of a friend who was just as unsure of their own future as I was. I lost my job more than once and faced the harsh reality of not knowing how I was going to make ends meet. It was a humbling and often disheartening experience.
But through all these struggles, I learned invaluable lessons about resilience, perseverance, and the strength I had within me to push through even the darkest days. Though life hasn’t been easy, these challenges have shaped who I am, and they’ve given me the determination to keep going no matter the odds. Today, I look back at those tough moments with gratitude, knowing that they’ve made me stronger and more driven than ever.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am not just a business owner—I am also a model and actress, wearing many hats and embracing each role with passion and dedication. A typical day for me often involves being on set, whether it’s for a show, a movie, or a photo shoot. My career in entertainment allows me to express myself in ways I never imagined, and I’m grateful for the opportunities it has given me. But when I’m not on set, I’m focused on my business, pouring my heart into it every day.
As a content creator, I’ve found my niche by being real and vulnerable with my audience. I specialize in creating content that resonates with people on a deep, authentic level. I don’t believe in presenting a polished, perfect version of myself—what you see is what you get. I share the highs, the lows, and everything in between, because that’s what makes me human. My connection with my audience isn’t built on illusions, but on honesty and transparency, and that’s something I hold close to my heart.
I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve done, whether it’s in front of the camera or behind the scenes with my business. Every project I’ve taken on, every piece of content I’ve created, holds a special place in my journey.
What truly sets me apart from others, though, is the way I approach everything in life. I believe in kindness, in being real, and in showing up authentically. I go above and beyond in everything I do because I genuinely care. Whether I’m on set, creating content, or managing my business, my commitment to excellence is driven by a deep desire to not just succeed, but to make a positive impact on those around me. I’ve always believed that kindness and authenticity are the greatest assets, and I carry that with me every step of the way.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Looking ahead to the next 5 to 10 years, I see the industry evolving in ways that are both exciting and unpredictable. The future of entertainment, business, and content creation is bound to be filled with more adversity and change, but I believe that’s what will make it even better. The industry is already on a path where people can finally be their authentic selves, and I hope this trend only continues to grow. There’s a shift happening where vulnerability and rawness are becoming more accepted, and that openness allows individuals to truly connect with their audiences.
Of course, there will always be new trends, and it’s difficult to predict exactly what the future will hold. What I do know is that the industry will continue to push boundaries, breaking old molds and creating new opportunities for those who are willing to take risks and embrace change. For every challenge that arises, I believe there will be an even greater chance to innovate and make a lasting impact.
Ultimately, I hope the industry takes a turn toward positive change—for everyone. I’d love to see more inclusivity, more voices being heard, and more opportunities for creators, entrepreneurs, and artists to thrive without fear of judgment. I believe that, in the end, the industry will evolve into a space where people are free to be themselves and where their unique stories are celebrated. The future is bright, and no matter what challenges come, I’m excited to see how the industry will continue to grow for the better.
