Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniielle Alexis.
Hi Daniielle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So I originally came to Hollywood from Australia on an entertainment Visa. My dreams have always been to be an actor but also just be in any creative realm. I became really close and best friends with the amazing celebrity makeup artist Erika La Pearl and was very close to Tokyo Stylez a celebrity hairstylist And throughout our friendship and bond. These girls mentor me and uplifted me in a way that they wanted to see me grow as a person and as a friend and allowed me to photograph there creative work as a team because they knew that I was very good at taking photos after that it opened a whole new realm of work for me due to the fact that their main client is Cardi B so I establish my own personal relationship with Cardi B and showed her that not only could I take phenomenal photos of her but that I deserved a spot in very close and important shoes and scenarios that the team had like music clips events Red carpets etc. It was a whole New World opened up for me that I never imagined but at the same time I was also so good at photography in College and I guess is someone being from Perth? Australia? I saw it as a job that I could never make money in which is why my dreams pivoted
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think the obstacles for anyone with creative dreams in Hollywood is the surviving the up-and-down in the sense of work can be dry and then Work can be at an all-time high. You really have to be responsible in managing your time and your money and not spreading yourself too thin and I also think that it’s really important to stay organic and authentic to who you are and don’t try be someone else you have to find your own Lane.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
So I now am working as a freelance photographer and I would say that I’m a celebrity photographer that specialises in glamour content/social media content. I basically have an ability just to really know someone’s best angles and I’m very good at directing their body and their face and I’m also great at fast editing which really helps in today’s day of age when you need a photo and you need to upload it very quickly. I would say that that’s my strength as a photographer and also just having an eye for beauty and breaking boundaries.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I think just not to give up. I pray and manifest every day that doll will open for me and I tend to focus on the what if that couldn’t sometimes be negative and I feel like that’s a blockage so I’ve really focused on cutting that out of my life and just Literally focusing on the positivity coming through the door
