Rising Stars: Meet Courtney Ursetti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Ursetti.

Hi Courtney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my first career in retail as a sales associate working at Nordstrom in the Midwest. I was going to fashion school and I knew I loved fashion, working with people and finding great talent. While at Nordstrom, I moved several states to be promoted from sales to manager and open new stores. I spent a total of 13 years at Nordstrom and from there, moved into high-end luxury management working for Miu Miu. For several years I continued my career opening stores, expanding my knowledge into different categories from ready-to-wear to yoga and then to a multi-category wellness and lifestyle company goop. My career in retail lasted over 20+ years in retail and then I had a life-changing experience that forced me to leave my life in retail.

I spent several years trying to understand what path I should be going down, I knew that I loved working in wellness with people, wanted to share my experiences. I went back to school and studied at IIN to be a health coach, upon graduating, I began identifying how and who I wanted to help. It was only when I found out I was pregnant at 46 did my niche become apparent.

I knew that having my first baby over 20 years ago I didn’t feel there were systems in place to support women fully heal and thrive and today they still are not great. I decided to return back to more schooling where I could fully support mothers in healing through Postpartum. I now cater to women through late pregnancy and into postpartum through an Ayurvedic lens all catering to the health of mom and baby.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nope. Starting your own business in itself is a challenge, you are faced with so many obstacles. The only way to make it successfully in business is to not give up and keep recreating yourself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the founder of a company called Mothersource. I focus on the healing aspect of postpartum through ancient healing techniques based on Ayurvedic tradition. At Mothersource, mothers and their ability to focus on healing and bonding with baby is the most important goal. I offer in-home services that range from cooking nourishing Ayurvedic meals to instructing daily self-massage and one on one check in’s. I am mostly proud of my offerings and the care that I provide because it is my life’s most precious work and I feel so greatly compelled to do this work to help other women.

My work is unique to me because of my innate ability to nurture and truly go above and beyond for women seeking support.

What matters most to you? Why?
Nurturing my family, my fiance and two girls and spreading the message about my work to as many women as I can
