Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase (Greedom Worldwide)
Hi Chase, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I originally developed the concept for GW while attending Morehouse College in Atlanta majoring in Business Management. The plan was to incorporate ancillary elements into a culture collective that would focus on music, art , and fashion. I’ve made music since high school when my best friend introduced me to an MPC. Post college I discovered an online market for vintage/retro clothing (much of which I sold from my personal collection) and eventually started the @addicted2attics brand. All brands need good visual marketing to properly tell their story so my background in graphic design really helps even when it comes down to designing album artwork for clients. Real world experience working with artists, entrepreneurs and designers helped me get to where I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Can you swim with the sharks? Most people can’t even swim let alone swim with predators. So no it hasn’t been smooth. Especially with the pandemic. The majority of my business relied upon procuring vintage products and with most sources being closed and also the general uneasiness about buying pre-owned clothing I took a hit for a couple of years. But that’s the reasoning behind the GW umbrella. A trinity. Every brand supports one another so if one takes a hit the others will pick up the slack. I counteracted by focusing on my graphic design team and our ability to provide brand development services and support for our current clients.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a culture collective that is based on creating all things dope. A trinity that consists of vintage fashion, graphic design, and music production. We work with brands and organizations to create stories that are unique and relevant to their audiences. For instance @thegreatkidneysearch is a great example of us working with the community to bring awareness to a specific cause. The director Rahwa is in dire need of a kidney transplant so our relationships with our partners aren’t just professional but personal as well.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Just ask. Whatever you are interested in whether it’s entertainment, fashion, real estate, or IT, find people in those circles via social media or events and just ASK. You’d be surprised how many people like to talk about themselves. Spending time in Atlanta with events going on all over the place made it a bit easier to mingle.
