Rising Stars: Meet Brooklyn Wilde of Los Angeles, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooklyn Wilde

Hi Brooklyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out in Hollywood with a desire to be part of the creative world, but like most people, I didn’t have an obvious in. I worked my way up through production, learning the ropes on set and in the trenches. It was a scrappy journey—lots of trial and error, but also a lot of moments where I saw just how far resilience and hard work could take me. Over time, I realized that producing wasn’t my end goal; it was just the foundation. My true calling was always in writing and directing. I spent years gaining industry experience, hustling on projects, and creating stories that spoke to my experiences—stories that broke barriers and reflected raw, authentic emotions.

Through this process, I’ve learned the importance of authenticity, the power of persistence, and that success doesn’t come in a straight line. It’s about evolving, pushing through setbacks, and staying true to your vision. Today, I’m focused on telling stories that challenge the status quo and give voice to those who’ve been overlooked or misunderstood. It’s been a challenging journey, but each step has brought me closer to being the storyteller I’ve always aspired to be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, and I’ve faced a lot of bumps along the way. When I first moved to SoCal, I had nothing but a few dimes and a dream. I started off with a ‘realistic’ job and lived in OC because it was cheaper, but I quickly realized that it would only hold me back from truly getting the opportunities I needed. I couldn’t make the right connections or find the projects I wanted unless I was right in the heart of LA. So, without adequate, affordable, safe housing options, I made the tough decision to live in my car and hustle my way up the ladder.

But it wasn’t just about the sacrifice—it was about navigating an industry that isn’t always kind. Along the way, I trusted the wrong people and found myself in situations where I was taken advantage of, not paid what I was worth, or even put into dangerous positions by those who employed me. I had to learn the hard way how to recognize red flags, trust my instincts, and protect myself in a world that can sometimes feel like a game of survival.

There were definitely moments where I felt lost or derailed—what I like to call ‘side quests’—but each one taught me something crucial. Despite the setbacks, I kept pushing forward, and eventually, I started seeing the fruits of my labor: producing music videos for artists I grew up listening to, living in a nice house in a great neighborhood. It felt like I’d made it. But then the dual strikes, the industry slowdowns, and the wildfires that came through, and lately it’s feeling like I’m back at square one.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in storytelling, primarily through producing and eventually shifting into writing and directing. I’ve built my career in the entertainment industry by doing whatever it takes to bring compelling narratives to life—whether that means producing music videos, indie films, or working behind the scenes to help artists and creators tell their stories.

What truly sets me apart is my ability to find creative solutions under pressure. I don’t just follow the conventional paths—I make my own. I thrive on challenges, and I’m driven by a vision that’s much bigger than just the work I’m doing right now. I believe in the power of raw, unfiltered storytelling that breaks barriers and speaks to real, untold experiences. It’s not always easy, but it’s what excites me the most—being able to create art that’s authentic and impactful.

I’m also incredibly proud of how I’ve navigated the twists and turns of this journey and how my work has allowed me to stay connected to the art and the people who inspired me when I was just starting out. For me, it’s about finding a balance between artistic vision and the hustle it takes to make that vision a reality.

How do you think about luck?
I often say I have the best worst luck. I’ve rolled two cars in my life and walked away without a scratch. Once, I had a massive battery short circuit while carrying it by the rubber handle—burned my brand-new pants, but I’m still here. It’s strange how these things that could easily be disasters seem to happen to me in the least catastrophic way possible. At this point, I take it as life’s way of telling me that there’s a reason I’m here.
