Rising Stars: Meet Brittany Bacinski of Metro Detroit, Michigan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Bacinski

Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I never saw Hollywood for myself. Until one day out of nowhere I did. It came to me like a vision as I was meditating. I had just gotten a divorce and my entire future was uncertain. I didn’t know what was next. One minute, I was a married stay-at-home-mom who was side-hustling creative gigs and writing books during nap times, and the next, I had keys to a new home, in a new neighborhood beginning my new life. After my divorce, it was almost as if a giant boulder was removed from my vision field and out in the distance was a brand-new Hollywood dream. And that dream was to see my work on screens. And now here I am, getting the opportunity two years later to do just that.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has never been smooth from me. From a difficult and traumatic childhood, to a painful divorce, devastating loss, heartbreak and beyond. However, through it all, I find that the pain transmutes into purpose for me and fuels some of my best work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I think I’m slowly becoming “that moody writer from the Midwest.” The subject matter of my art is often riddled with emotional depth and this sort of bold authenticity. I like to write about the rawness of life. I often say that my mailman inspires me more than Taylor Swift. There is just something very captivating about the real, humble, honest, human experience. I find my muses to be a lot of ordinary people, places and things. I see them in my mind with much more color I think, and that tends to show up in my work.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think luck is just an expression of radical faith in your deepest desires and beliefs. Have I been lucky, or have I just maintained a radical belief in myself and my dreams? I think it’s up for interpretation.
