Rising Stars: Meet Brandon Guzman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Guzman.

Hi Brandon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m 26 years old born and raised in Ecuador small meighborhood in the Northside of Quito. My city was a big part of my musical journey and the culture inspired me to pursue my dreams in the United States. The Beginning, It started when I was seven years old watching MTV shows, I remember seeing The Artists like Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Vico C, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam and others and my intuition was telling me to go for it.

My First Performance was In The School Talent Show the first song I performed was a cover by “Nicky Jam – Hacer Escante” from the audience’s cheer of excitement, I knew I was made for this. After my first performance, I started writing my first lyrics and participating in Freestyle Contest as I noticed my skills were increasing, one of my friends invited me to his home studio where I recorded my first song, “Ella Va Sola” after recording it made me feel happy for what’s to come. Currently, I live in Los Ángeles, California it’s bittersweet being here today cause back in my country, I used to listen to Hip-Hop from The West Coast, Now that I’m here I always bring a part of my culture into my music with a blend of L.A culture. I released my first single of 2023, “Panorama” and we are following that up with an EP called “feelings” it’s full of emotions showing my vulnerable side. If you don’t know me yet take a listen to my music and I hope you become a part of my family. It’s not just my journey; it’s ours.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There’s been huge challenges like leaving my country, family & friends in Ecuador. Being here in the U.S alone as an immigrant is also a challenge learning a new language and the culture of the American lifestyle. With no money and no connections in the music industry, the only thing I knew was I have to make it happen someway.
