Rising Stars: Meet Bradford Rogne of LOS ANGELES

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bradford Rogne.

Hi Bradford, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my photography career in the late ’90s in San Francisco, shooting new faces for some of the top modeling agencies of the time. My passion for fashion photography and love of makeup artistry naturally intersected, and I spent those early years learning from and training alongside artists I deeply admired. Over the course of four years, I built a strong portfolio and eventually felt ready to take on New York City.

In NYC, I spent another four years shooting model portfolios while also honing my skills as a makeup artist. In 2002, I moved to Los Angeles and opened my own studio the following year.

The first couple of years in LA were all about hustle—I said yes to every opportunity I could, whether it was shooting headshots for actors or doing makeup for network press events. That momentum quickly grew, and within a few years, I found myself working full-time as a headshot photographer while also doing celebrity makeup for TV and award shows.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing thousands of actors, entertainers, hosts, executives, and public figures over the past 20+ years. I’ve collaborated with agents, publicists, brands, and creatives on everything from magazine covers to look books, and I’m grateful that my work continues to evolve alongside the industry.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel very fortunate to have launched my career in LA when I did. The entertainment industry was buzzing with opportunity—budgets were generous, and there was a real demand for creative work. It gave me a strong foundation and a valuable point of reference as the industry evolved.

Of course, the road hasn’t always been smooth. Navigating an ever-changing landscape meant learning how to market myself, network effectively, and stay flexible with my skillset. Those qualities helped me weather several economic downturns, shifts in technology, and the pandemic. Interestingly, the most challenging times often brought unexpected opportunities—for growth, reinvention, and learning something new.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a portrait photographer specializing in headshots, celebrity portraiture, and occasional editorial work. My clients span the entertainment industry, as well as tech, business, and fashion. My style leans glossy and glamorous—elevated, but still authentic.

One of the things that sets me apart is my background in both photography and makeup artistry. I bring both skillsets to every shoot, which allows me to shape the final image from start to finish.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing talent like Zendaya, Chris Brown, Kevin Hart, Ciara, and Ian Somerhalder. My work has been licensed by networks like ABC, NBC, and Bravo, and featured in publications including Allure and Life & Style.

I’m most proud of building a career that blends artistry, intuition, and trust—helping people feel confident in front of the camera and delivering images that truly reflect their best selves.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
People are often surprised to find out that, even though I come off like a total extrovert, I’ve got a strong introvert streak. I genuinely love connecting with people—it’s one of the best parts of my job—but I also really value my solo time to recharge.
