Today we’d like to introduce you to Bezalel Abera.
Bezalel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started the idea my clothing brand in 2020, released in May 2021 for my 22nd birthday. All is well was something I always thought was super dope because I seen it being used in every way from formal emails, to people in the hood saying it. Growing up where I grew up and the way I grew up it felt like the best of both worlds and fit me perfectly. So after taking my time doing everything the right way I felt my birthday was a great day to release and put it out to the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If anyone has had a clothing brand or a business in general you know its anything but a smooth road. From a whole production not fitting the way you want it, to dealing with different production teams not doing what they supposed to do, to having to make the same sample over and over it gets real frustrating but its all a learning experience so now I don’t even get frustrated just try to find something you can learn from the experience you’re going through.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My main work is just being the creative director for my brand. Doing the day to day operations. Shipping what needs to be shipped out. Getting with my graphic designers to create new pieces. Look at fabrics. Making sure to keep up with the production team. Everything you need for a brand I do.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was really an introvert unless I was comfortable around you. I was a huge Kobe and Lakers fan. That was my first dream was to be the starting point guard for the Lakers. I loved shoes a lot would always window shop at foot locker and shiekh or go on nikeid and customize some hoop shoes. Was a really good student. Got along with everyone. I always been real chill and to myself for the most part
