Rising Stars: Meet Barbaranne Wylde and Daniella Clarke

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbaranne Wylde and Daniella Clarke.

Barbaranne Wylde

Hi Barbaranne and Daniella, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As our friendship began “all about the shoes”, we realized that we had so much in common and decided to share our passion/mission to embrace health, wellness, and aging (not) gracefully. We were constantly searching and sharing products and procedures to make us feel great, and then it occurred to us that we should be of public service and share our Honest AF knowledge as a podcast. So many women over 40 are starting to experience changes in not just their appearance but also physical changes in their bodies as well as their mental health. As we are now of a certain “stature” and going through all those changes and challenges ourselves, and since we are both the same age, both have been married to musicians for over 30 years, both have kids, and are both businesswomen, we thought that it would be fun and hopefully helpful to share our conversations with our listeners. We share products and procedures for both men and women, along with tour stories. Basically, nothing is off the table.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Doing the show is an absolute Lovefest and literally saved our sanity throughout the pandemic. Generating any income and increasing our listenership has been a challenge in the crowded podcast space but we are not bailing anytime soon!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Personal Manager who manages my husband, rock musician Zakk Wylde. I manage him personally and his bands, Black Label Society and Zakk Sabbath. I run our Music Publishing company, focusing on licensing and copyright, and I own and run our merchandise company, BLS Merchandising. I also co-host the HonestAF Show podcast. I am most proud of my ability to never take No for an answer and pivoting as the music industry landscape changes daily!

I am unique in my tenacity, quick thinking, problem-solving, all with a sense of humor.

Daniella Clarke: I am a creative director and fashion designer. Best known for corrupting the youth of America by creating the low-rise jean craze of the early 2000s with my brand that I founded called Frankie B. Jeans. Since selling the company, I have most recently launched a collaboration with my daughter’s (namesake of Frankie B.) band Frankie + The Studs, and Forever 21. I’m also Barbs other half in our Honest AF Show podcast.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Barb: Success = happiness – full stop

Daniella: For me, success personally is all about family, but professionally success is when a listener of our show comes up to me when I’m out and about and tells me they listen and we’ve helped them in some way even if we just made them laugh.
