Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Diane King.
Hi Ariel Diane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My beginnings are in the Midwest on the Southside of Chicago, I started modeling at a young age thanks to my mother and father, I began shoots and classes early on and that further developed into a love for performing arts, I won a talent competition for Best Actress at the Hollywood Film Festival Awards at the Beverly Hilton and that provided me an opportunity to obtain a talent manager and other agencies to support my career.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are always struggles and I’ve always felt and been taught that those struggles develop character and lessons that further growth. From being bullied in school, falling out of love and then falling back into love with my pursuit of my expression as an artist and living on the edge in Los Angeles. There are cycles of development that aren’t always easy but I have found noticing and repeating good patterns have always helped me move forward.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My first major role as an actress was playing OJ Simpsons daughter Arnelle Simpson on American Crime Story. It received 22 Emmy nominations and was the most watched cable TV show for the year 2016 and FX’s network roster I am proud to have finally obtained my 501c3 for my non-profit pursuits which fullfill me so much more during this journey. I currently star in a beautiful tv pilot called Dinner Talk which was created and directed by Louis Gerard Politan, produced by Asbury Films with Paul Perrina, April Centrone & Kira Sanchez at 10PRL Productions and Ronnie Marmo.
I play Tracy Fento who is wracked with guilt over loss of her husband in 9/11 and is trying to cope through therapy and unhealthy vices while living on his insurance money. The story shows this through the lens of a diner. The audience is able to see patrons secrets and inner lives like a fly on a wall in every episode. It’s a wonderful concept shot in New Jersey and we just premiered the pilot March 25, 2023 at the Garden State Film Festival.
What sets me apart I would have to say is my commitment, I put my whole heart into what I do and I am rarely discouraged, mostly strategic if I encounter setbacks. I think I secretly have more fun accomplishing massive challenges since I’ve been doing that my whole life…
