Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Arden
Hi Amber, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, everyone! My name is Amber Arden (instagram.com/AmberArden), and I’ve spent over a decade bringing fairytales to life through cosplaying and Disneybounding! Inspired by Disney, Star Wars, and countless fandoms, I’ve had the joy of creating over 100 unique Snow White-inspired looks throughout the years!
So…right now in my life, I’m super excited to announce that I’m an aspiring nail technician and manicurist, currently on an exciting journey to become licensed by June 2025. I recently started an Instagram page, IG: Rebel Princess Nails, where I document my progress, passion, and the creative steps I’m taking to turn my dream into reality.
The nail industry has always inspired me as a beautiful blend of art and connection. I’m passionate about creating intricate, fairytale-inspired nail designs (to match future Disneybounds), as well as offering services that help clients feel confident and pampered. Through Rebel Princess Nails, I hope to share not only my learning process but also connect with others who value creativity and self-expression through nail art.
I’m looking forward to establishing ja long-term career in this field, serving clients in the Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange County areas.
Once I’m licensed, I’ll be offering a variety of services, including custom nail designs, and I can’t wait to bring my vision to life!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Over the past few months, I’ve been touring schools in my area to find the perfect fit for my nail technician education. After a thorough search, I was lucky to discover a school nearby that I absolutely love. My teacher, Ms. Rhonda, is absolutely amazing, and I’m grateful for her guidance. I also have two wonderful classmates, making the journey even more enjoyable. The nail industry is very competitive but I’ll be positive and focus on my craft ☺️
I attend school every weekday, dedicating hours each day to studying and perfecting techniques to reach my goal of passing the state board exam. I’m also documenting my progress on my @RebelPrincessInstagram, where I’ll share milestones along the way.
I’m especially thankful that the tuition is affordable, as I’ve been saving up for this opportunity. It’s been a rewarding experience so far, and I’m excited for what’s to come!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First of all, a Nail Technician is a trained professional who provides a variety of services, including:
• Manicures: Shaping, buffing, and polishing nails, as well as maintaining cuticles.
• Pedicures: Caring for and beautifying toenails and feet, including exfoliation and moisturizing treatments.
• Nail Enhancements: Applying acrylics, gels, dip powders, or extensions to create durable and artistic nail designs.
• Nail Art: Designing intricate and creative nail patterns, including custom designs and fairytale-inspired styles.
• Hand and Foot Massages: Offering relaxing massages to improve circulation and reduce stress.
• Nail and Skin Care Education: Advising clients on proper nail care and hygiene to keep their nails healthy.
Nail techs combine technical skill, creativity, and customer service to ensure clients leave feeling confident and pampered.
The education required to become a Nail Technician in Ca includes the following:
1. Completion of a Nail Technician Program:
• Enroll in an accredited beauty school or cosmetology program that offers nail technology courses.
• These programs typically cover topics like nail anatomy, health and safety, sanitation, nail art, and advanced techniques for manicures, pedicures, and enhancements.
2. State-Mandated Training Hours:
• Each state requires a specific number of training hours to qualify for the licensing exam. For example, in California, 400 hours are required.
3. Practical Hands-On Experience:
• Students must practice and perfect techniques under supervision, often working on real clients during their training.
4. Health, Safety, and Sanitation:
• Learning state-specific safety regulations and procedures to maintain a hygienic environment and prevent the spread of infections.
5. Preparation for the State Board Exam:
• Study for and pass the written and practical state board exams to become a licensed Nail Technician.
Continuing education and workshops are also essential to stay updated on new trends, products, and techniques in the nail industry.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I feel so lucky to live in such an inspiring area like Orange County, near Disneyland and LA, where there are so many amazing creatives to collaborate with, especially in fashion and styling. I love combining nail art with unique outfits, creating a cohesive and artistic look.
It’s such a positive and exciting time, and I’m embracing every moment of this journey. I look forward to the connections I’ll make with fellow artists, stylists, and clients both before and after I get my license. It’s a dream come true to blend creativity and passion into something so meaningful!
