Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Rome West.
Hi Amanda Rome, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a 24 years old Jewish rapper, producer, and personality. I have lived in LA since 2016, and I graduated from USC BCA in 2020. I got to where I am today by putting in the work and constantly hustling to level up with my projects. I became a rapper in 2018 when my friend from college produced Ciera’s album and decided that I should work with him… And then, boom, I started channeling all my creativity into my music, and fast forward to 2021, I’m producing my own show, working on my 3rd album CALIFORNIA WASTED, and running my podcast, ARW RAW. I also just founded my own clothing brand A Rich Whore. Listen to my new release “PERMANENT VACATION”.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road for me, and I what arguably say that it is not an easy path for anyone looking to make a name for themself in Hollywood. The biggest struggle has probably been that people want to doubt you until they see your popularity, and then they change their minds. You need to believe in yourself and remember that you will never regret being yourself. Society doesn’t want to accept those of us who are outliers but we don’t let the mold break us, we break the mood.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am primarily a minority female rapper. As someone who is very different from most of the world, I wrap from a very personal point of you and I think that my fans are mostly part of this niche of Jewish women who help each other through life by relating to each other and bringing their struggles to light. I think that each of us needs to represent our community through our artwork and let the community know that we are here for them, not only to represent them but also to invigorate them for change. I am most proud of never letting anyone tell me what I can and cannot do and always proving the haters wrong. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t care how much work it takes, if it’s something that I want, I’ll make it happen.
