Rising Stars: Meet Alexander Pleasant of Burbank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Pleasant.

Alexander, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At just 5 years old, Alexander Pleasant has already built an impressive resume, including co-starring on Abbott Elementary and playing Baby Randall on This Is Us.
Beyond television, Alexander has made a mark in commercial and print modeling, working with major brands like Melissa & Doug, Jakks Pacific Toys, Beats by Dre, Little Sleepies, Walmart.com, Banzai Jr., and Seventh Generation Diapers. His versatility and natural charisma have made him a favorite among casting directors.

His journey into acting is a unique family story. With both parents passionate about entertainment, they saw Alexander’s birth as the perfect opportunity to introduce him to acting—allowing them to work together as a family while navigating life in Los Angeles without a traditional support system. What started as a passion project quickly turned into an exciting career for Alexander, proving that talent and determination can shine at any age.

As a 3/4 African American and 1/4 Salvadorian actor, we are excited to immerse Alexander in cultural experiences that celebrate diversity in storytelling. Representation in the media is important to us, and we hope he continues to take on roles that reflect and inspire young audiences from all backgrounds.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Alex’s acting journey has been an incredible experience. While there have been quieter periods due to events like the pandemic and industry strikes, every step from auditions to bookings has brought joy and excitement to both Alex and his parents. We’ve truly enjoyed being part of this adventure.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Alexander is a working actor and print model who began his career at just 3 weeks old. His very first booking was a music video for Fifth Harmony before he was even a month old, and shortly after, he became the size 1 diaper model for Seventh Generation. Since then, he’s continued to build a strong portfolio in both television and print.

Some of his most recognized work includes portraying baby Randall on an episode of This Is Us and, more recently, playing Julian on Abbott Elementary.

What sets Alexander apart is not only his early start and natural comfort on set, but also the joy he brings to each role. His parents are intentional about the projects he takes on—prioritizing meaningful work that tells important stories, reflects diversity, and celebrates culture. Their goal is for Alex to grow his career while saving for college, and to contribute to projects that leave a lasting impact. It’s been such a rewarding experience to be part of productions that are both powerful and purposeful.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For anyone just getting started, I highly recommend checking out Little Actors Los Angeles, written by Alex’s mom. It’s a great resource for parents interested in helping their little ones break into the industry, especially in the early years. You can find the book at payhip.com/b/Dv8hJ, and use the promo code VOYAGELA2025 for 50% off.

Alex had the unique advantage of having two parents who were already immersed in the industry, which gave him a strong head start. However, one thing we wish we had done earlier was connect with other young actors and families. Building a community has been so valuable, having that support and shared experience has made the journey even more rewarding. So don’t be afraid to network, ask questions, and find your tribe early on!
