Rising Stars: Meet Acid For Squares of North Hollywood

Hi Tanya and Cody, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

Thanks for having us! We’re Tanya Dahl and Cody Blue Snider, the husband-and-wife duo known as Acid For Squares, an alternative media entity and paranormal podcast, as well as the founders of the acclaimed A4S Podcast Studios in Los Angeles. We both come from creative and professional backgrounds that shaped our journey to this point. Tanya has had a dynamic career as a media executive and creative director, leading award-winning agencies and directing over 20 national commercials for brands like Timex, Manscaped, and Star Wars. Meanwhile, Cody has made his mark as a professional (D.G.A) Director and (W.G.A.) screenwriter, earning nearly 50 awards globally for his work in film, tv, music videos and commercials. He is currently writing the screenplay for the hit comic LOVE ADVICE FROM THE GREAT DUKE OF HELL produced by Imagine Entertainment.

Our journey began with Acid For Squares in 2022, when we created the company’s first project, Awakened Underground. This limited podcast series explored the healing power of psychedelic plant medicines and quickly gained international recognition, charting as the #1 spiritual podcast in the world and earning a nomination for a 2023 iHeartRadio Award. This revealed a massive, untapped audience for counter-culture ideas and showed us that podcasting is the most direct, unfiltered platform to bring these marginalized stories to light and share them with the world.

In 2024, we expanded Acid For Squares with the launch of its namesake weekly talk show, the Acid For Squares Podcast. This flagship series dives deeper into the paranormal and psycho-spiritual phenomenon, merging science and spirituality to uncover universal truths. Both shows reflect the mission of Acid For Squares as a media company: to challenge perceptions, destigmatize the unknown, and spark meaningful conversations. The Acid For Squares Podcast clips quickly went viral on both TikTok and Instagram, garnering millions of views around the world and skyrocketing the show’s viewership.

As our work grew, so did our need for a high-quality production space. When we couldn’t find a studio that met our standards, we decided to build our own. That’s how A4S Podcast Studios was born. Originally created to support our projects, the studio quickly evolved into something much larger—a network and agency offering 360-degree podcast services to our clients. Thanks to the leadership of our Studio President, Tony Bouzada—a seasoned filmmaker and podcast producer—the studio has transformed the landscape of video podcasting in Los Angeles, elevating our client’s shows to a cinematic level. All our clients have to do is show up, and we take care of everything else, from production to distribution. We even consult and create social media clips for our clients, so all they have to focus on is their performance and connecting with their show’s guests.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Not at all! The road has been anything but smooth, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. After spending a combined 40 years in Hollywood, we’ve encountered our share of exploitation, manipulation, censorship, and corporate control. Creating A4S Podcast Studios was our way of reclaiming our creative freedom and building something that reflects our values.

Starting this studio was a leap of faith. It took everything we had—our time, energy, and every dollar in our bank accounts. But the sacrifices were worth it because this studio represents more than just a business to us. It’s a space where creators can work free from the constraints of executive oversight, censorship, or interference—a haven we wish existed when we first began our careers in Hollywood.

This process has been profoundly healing for us. After years of watching our projects stripped of their essence by the Hollywood machine, A4S has given us the freedom to share stories that are unfiltered and authentic. It’s also been amazing to see how the Acid For Squares podcast has become a platform for people who’ve experienced paranormal phenomena to share their stories without judgment.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

Acid For Squares is the heart of everything we do. It’s more than a media company—it’s a platform for exploring the unexplored. From the Acid For Squares Podcast to our upcoming feature documentaries, our projects are designed to challenge fear and inspire curiosity.

A4S Podcast Studios, on the other hand, is where our creative vision meets cutting-edge production. It’s the only studio in LA that offers full-service podcast solutions to its clients. From consulting and pre-production to live editing, post-production, and distribution, we handle every step of the process.

In addition to being a rental space, A4S Podcast Studios is now a fully-fledged network and agency. Through our partnership with AdLarge, we help creators monetize their content and reach global audiences. We’ve even expanded into building custom podcast studios for clients in their homes or offices.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
