Nineveh Cannavino on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Nineveh Cannavino and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nineveh, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
“A puzzle — in any form — is something that makes me completely lose track of time. There’s this quiet, almost meditative space I go into when I’m piecing things together. It could be a literal puzzle, a riddle, or even a situation in life or work that needs unraveling. I love the process of finding order in something that starts off feeling scattered or unclear.

I usually find myself again when I step back — take a breath, look at the bigger picture, and remember that not everything needs to be solved right away. Sometimes, just sitting with the pieces is enough. That moment of pause helps me reconnect with myself, my patience, and this sense of trust that clarity always comes — in puzzles, and in life.”

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Nineveh Cannavino, founder of SoCal Wine Country Medium — a space where healing, connection, and spirit come together in both practical and profoundly sacred ways. I’m an evidential psychic medium, Reiki master, intuitive consultant, and spiritual teacher, and I work with people who are looking for more than answers — they’re looking for truth, healing, and reconnection.

I’ve always felt the presence of spirit in my life. Even as a child, I sensed there was more to this world than what we could see or explain. But like many intuitive people, I spent years walking through different seasons — some beautiful, some challenging — before I fully stepped into the calling I now live every day. It wasn’t a straight path, but it was sacred. And somewhere along the way, I made a promise to myself: to stop dimming my light, and to step fully into my purpose.

SoCal Wine Country Medium was born from that promise. Located in the heart of Southern California’s wine country, this work is deeply grounded in both the natural and the spiritual. I see mediumship not as a performance, but as a sacred responsibility — a way to serve both the living and the spirit world with love, truth, and humility. My work is rooted in evidential mediumship, which means I bring through highly specific, detailed information from loved ones in spirit — names, dates, personality traits, shared memories — things that can’t be guessed or generalized. The goal is always clarity, confirmation, and healing.

But my work goes far beyond traditional readings. I also offer intuitive guidance, energy healing, aura readings, dream interpretation, and even coffee cup readings (tasseography), which is a beautiful and ancient form of divination. Every session is personalized and heart-led — whether someone is grieving, searching for clarity, or going through a spiritual awakening, I hold space for whatever their soul needs at that moment.

What makes my practice unique is its integration of multiple spiritual modalities combined with a deep respect for both intuition and evidence. I don’t believe you have to choose between being grounded and being spiritual — I believe you can be both. You can live in this world and still be deeply connected to the unseen one. My clients often describe our sessions as “soul medicine” — and I think that’s exactly what this work is meant to be.

Right now, I’m especially passionate about teaching and mentoring. I believe that mediumship is not reserved for a chosen few — it’s a capacity many of us carry, waiting to be awakened. Through one-on-one mentorship and group programs, I help emerging intuitives and mediums build confidence in their own abilities and develop their gifts with integrity, responsibility, and self-trust. This part of my work is incredibly fulfilling — watching people remember who they really are is a powerful thing to witness.

I’m also actively working on expanding the reach of my work — whether it’s through remote readings, media appearances, live group sessions, or future workshops and retreats. There’s a collective hunger right now for deeper meaning, and I feel grateful to be one of many voices helping people come back to their own inner knowing — and to remember that love never dies, and we are never truly alone.

In everything I do, I come back to the same truth: spirit is real, love is eternal, and healing is always possible. Whether you’re seeking connection with a loved one, clarity around your path, or simply a moment of peace — I’m here to hold that space with you.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
The bond between people often begins to strain — or even fracture — in early childhood, long before we’re able to name what’s happening. As children, we come into the world open, trusting, and deeply connected to both spirit and emotion. But when our needs aren’t met — emotionally, physically, or spiritually — we begin to form stories:
“I’m too much.”
“I’m not enough.”
“Love isn’t safe.”
“If I express who I really am, I’ll be abandoned.”

These beliefs become the roots of disconnection — from ourselves and from others. It’s not always dramatic or obvious; sometimes it’s the quiet absence of emotional attunement, a parent who was too overwhelmed to be present, or a moment of pain that went unacknowledged. These small moments leave big imprints.

When that bond is interrupted early, we carry that into adulthood — mistrust, overprotection, people-pleasing, fear of intimacy. We seek connection, but we’ve learned that closeness might cost us something. So we guard ourselves, and the bond between people starts to suffer.

What restores it is often just as simple and sacred: presence, validation, and emotional safety. When we are truly seen — especially in our most vulnerable, childlike places — healing begins. It might come through a loving relationship, through therapy, through spiritual work, or even through mediumship, when someone finally hears the words they longed to hear as a child, even if those words come from spirit.

Reconnection begins when we remember that we were always worthy of love — even in the moments we were made to feel otherwise. And as we heal the child within, we begin to restore the bonds outside of us too.

For me, the bond between people was deeply affected in early childhood through my relationship with my mother. I experienced moments of verbal abuse and lying, which broke the trust that a child naturally wants to place in their parent. When someone who is supposed to be your safe harbor becomes a source of pain or confusion, it leaves wounds that run deep. It wasn’t always dramatic — sometimes it was the quiet moments of feeling unseen, unheard, or dismissed. That fractured the bond in ways that took years to understand and heal.

But what I’ve learned is that the bond, even when broken, is never beyond repair.

One of the most healing experiences in my life came through one of my first personal romantic relationships — a relationship built on truth, honesty, and kind words. It was through that connection that I began to feel safe again, to rebuild my trust in others, and even in myself. The simple acts of openness and gentle communication restored something that had been lost early on. It reminded me that trust can be reclaimed through vulnerability and love.

That early broken bond taught me how precious and fragile connection is — and how important it is to nurture it with care, patience, and truth. Healing those childhood wounds is a process, but relationships grounded in authenticity and kindness can be the doorway back to wholeness.

In my work as a medium and healer, I see this pattern over and over — the wounds from early experiences can feel like a barrier, but the restoration comes through presence, honesty, and a heart willing to love again.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: “You are enough — exactly as you are, right now.”

Growing up, there were many moments when I felt unseen, unheard, and unsure of my worth. The wounds from broken trust, especially in early childhood, left me carrying doubts about whether I was lovable or deserving. I wish I could have told her then that those feelings, as real and heavy as they were, did not define her essence or her future.

Spiritually, I’ve come to understand that our souls choose their journeys before incarnating — with all their challenges and gifts woven in — and that every experience is a thread in a much larger tapestry. To my younger self, I would say: Your soul is perfect and whole, even when your human heart feels fractured. You are a divine spark of love and light, here to learn, heal, and ultimately shine.

I would encourage her to embrace her sensitivity and intuition, not as burdens, but as sacred tools — pathways to connect deeply with spirit and to bring healing to others. I’d tell her to trust the unseen helpers around her — guides, angels, ancestors — who have always been walking beside her, even when she couldn’t feel them.

Most importantly, I’d remind her that healing is a journey, not a destination. It’s okay to feel pain and confusion, but it’s equally important to hold space for joy, hope, and renewal. The love she seeks — both inward and outward — is always accessible because it’s woven into her very being.

If she could hear this now, I hope she’d feel lighter, braver, and more at peace, knowing that she was never truly alone — and that her light, no matter how dim it sometimes feels, is eternally bright.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes — without a doubt. The public version of me is not a mask or a show; it’s a reflection of my soul shining through my work and my life. Being the SoCal Wine Country Medium isn’t something I switch on for an audience — it’s who I am at my core.

Everything I share, whether in a reading, a message, or simply my presence online, flows from a deeply rooted place of authenticity, love, and service. It’s the same energy that moves through me when I’m alone, when I’m with family, or when I’m connecting with spirit. I don’t separate the public Nineveh from the private one — they are woven from the same thread of light and truth.

My work is spiritual, yes, but it’s also deeply human. The laughter, the tears, the healing — it’s all part of the real me. What people see publicly is a soul that’s been through fire and come out stronger, a heart that’s learned to trust love again, and a spirit that’s committed to walking the path of truth and connection every day.

So when you meet the public me, you’re meeting the real me — a vessel for spirit, a bearer of love, and a human on an ongoing journey of healing and awakening. There’s no division, just a blending of all parts into one radiant, imperfect, beautiful whole.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had only 10 years left, the very first thing I would stop doing is allowing fear, doubt, and the need for external approval to dictate how I live my life. For many years, especially early on, I carried the heavy burden of trying to prove myself, trying to fit into molds that didn’t honor my true spirit. That kind of living drains the soul and clouds the clarity that comes from being fully aligned with one’s purpose.

Spiritually, I’ve learned that our time here is sacred and limited — a precious opportunity to awaken, heal, and expand love. When you truly embody that awareness, you begin to see how much energy is wasted on things that do not serve your soul’s growth. I would stop engaging in anything that dims my light or pulls me away from the deeper truth that I am here to serve as a conduit for healing and connection between worlds.

As the founder of SoCal Wine Country Medium, my business is built on the principle of authenticity and heart-centered service. I help others reconnect with their loved ones who have passed, find clarity in confusing times, and awaken to their own spiritual gifts. If time were limited, I would stop holding back — I would stop hesitating to expand this work in ways that truly nourish people’s hearts and souls.

I would stop postponing the mentorship and training programs I’m passionate about because empowering others to walk their spiritual path is not only a calling but a legacy I want to leave. The truth is, I would stop allowing distractions, negative self-talk, and the fear of judgment to keep me from stepping fully into that mission.

Instead, I would focus more on deepening the quality of connection — with spirit, with clients, with my own inner guidance, and with my community. I’d prioritize sacred space for healing, love, and spiritual awakening. Because in the end, what matters most is the energy we leave behind, the bonds we restore, and the light we bring into the world.

Knowing I have limited time would be a powerful reminder that every moment is a gift. And every choice to live aligned with my highest truth is a step toward honoring that gift fully.
