NATALYN, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, what’s been bringing me joy outside of work is starting my mornings with soothing music and practicing breathing techniques. It sets a calm tone for the day and helps me feel centered. I’ve also been finding fulfillment in mastering my quiet time—giving myself undivided attention and being fully present in the moment.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Natalyn Randle, founder and CEO of Black Business Women Rock (BBWR), a nonprofit empowering African American women through business education, sisterhood, and economic advancement. BBWR creates transformative experiences, offering tools, resources, and connections to help women grow thriving businesses. Our mission is rooted in authenticity, collaboration, and purpose-driven leadership. Currently, I’m focused on expanding BBWR’s impact through strategic partnerships, digital learning, and initiatives that spotlight and support Black women entrepreneurs nationwide.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful began when I committed to doing the inner work. As I started confronting my fears and limiting beliefs, I realized that true strength comes from within. I began to understand that mastering fear is a form of freedom—and I told myself, “If I truly focus and believe in myself, I can conquer anything I set my mind to.” That mindset shift was the foundation of my personal power.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: Everything is going to be just fine. Challenges will come, but don’t be afraid. Every lesson you face will shape you, strengthen you, and ultimately guide you toward your greatness.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies I believe our industry—and society at large—tells itself is that fear is necessary to maintain control or success. Fear-based narratives are often used to discourage risk-taking, especially among women and marginalized communities. In reality, when people are empowered with knowledge, support, and belief in their own potential, they thrive. The truth is: progress comes not from fear, but from courage, connection, and authenticity.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by nature—taking a quiet walk, breathing deeply, and listening to the calming sounds around me. The rhythm of nature grounds me, clears my mind, and helps me reconnect with myself in a way that few other things can.
